I've played the original version of Cash and Guns, and if you're playing with the extra secret rules I'm pretty sure one of them is that you start with 1 gun but should another player die you can hold 2 guns (although whether you have to kill someone yourself to take their gun, I can't remember)

If I am in the right mood - let's say the last four years New Years parties - the game is just simple and hilarious fun and I always get a kick out of it ... same for my sons. For what it is - a superbly game for me and la familia.... and the rest of the gang!

No foam guns, but World Championship Russian Roulette is very similar and I'd argue is a much better game. The twist obviously is that you aim the gun at yourself and try to see how many times you can pull the trigger without it going bang. At the start of each round you place a card face down which is either a click or a bang - placing a bang here is considered cheating and so opposing players get to try and guess who placed a bang instead of a click. This card gets discarded at the end of the round and you add another bang to your hand. Leading to a point where you just have a hand of bangs. But you amass these special one off cards to shoot another player, make everyone shoot into the air etc. Tons of fun setups and you'll be laughing every round as you are always the master of your own downfall.

I'm a huge fan of the game, ESPECIALLY with the Team Spirit expansion. But More Cash n More Guns is also awesome. :)

This is an old review ? ..... I bought Cash and Guns years ago Im sure based on a SUSD review. Weve played dozens of times its bloody brilliant. Great for kids adults and as an ice breaker with new friends.

Your comment was very old, but in case you or anyone reading is curious -- SUSD used to have their review videos only on their site, but a while back went and uploaded their catalogue to KZbin. So that's why they appeared new here, despite not being new videos.

While it doesn't have foam guns, there's a similar game called Goodcritters that I think is a bit better. The key differences make the game more engaging, in my opinion. The leader for the round divides a pot of loot among the players, however they want. Then the players will all threaten another player a la pointing a gun. But then they secretly pick an action card. Vote Yes if you think your split of the pot was fair. Vote No if not. You can Mug the player you threaten, stealing a loot card. Or you can Guard against being mugged, and steal money from anyone who dared try to mug you. Lastly, you can Skim money off the top of the draw pile, but only the first player to Skim each round succeeds. If more Yes than No, the money is divvied up as shown. If more vote No, the next player becomes the one to split the pot, adding extra cards for a bigger take, and making it that much harder to divide the cash evenly. It also features lovely art inspired by both prohibition mobsters flicks and cartoon animals like Sly Cooper. What I like most is that the interaction between players is less about counting bullets, and more about the table diplomacy. You're not bound to the same countdown as Cash & Guns, and you're free to wheel and deal. Or at least that was the way we played. And when a player has gotten too far ahead, other players can really work to make their life a living hell until they've been cut back down to size. So if you like the idea on Cash & Guns, but want something a little more social, get some Goodcritters, and tell them Slimjim sent you. Pack tactics.

Me and my brother both have a copy of this game and both have the same opinion. It's a bit "meh". I love the idea but it's always the same. Who's winning, everyone points their gun at that person :P I love the idea of the game but for some reason, it's never clicked with anyone I know.

Maaaan I just super dislike this version of the game. The first edition was just so much more elegant. No turn order, just real simply everybody that's still in at the end of a round splits the loot as evenly as possible.

Me too... Love playing the previous edition for those reasons, this seem like a real let down. I suspect someone believed that "maths is too hard". This removes one of the more important strategic options, "if there are three people standing, those 20k will stay on the table for the next round, so I might as well duck".
