Well now you have to actually try the Bloodborne board game to give it a real review

A brilliant video! My partner and I adore the video game. So cool to get such an honest and thorough review. You got a sub from me :3

I would love to try this game, as someone with 300 hours of StS on Steam, but the price for this game is ridiculous in Brazil.

I don’t think co-oping the video game is odd. I’ve been doing the same with some friends over Discord for years. It’s such a good time.

The Silent is SO WEAK in the board game sadly, lacking in damage in a big way (you'd have to get really lucky to be effective)

Really fun board game, just be ready for the 1-2 hours required to initially prep a game for the first time. Got two runs in so far, both ended in Act 2 against the Gremlin Leader. Out of all the encounters so far, that one definitely is the deck checker, as it can easily steamroll a party hit by poor rng.

Wow, my experiences were totally different. While I adore Nemo's War, I just couldn't stand Hostage Negotiator. I found it dull and too random. To each their own.

Your final comments are more true of every war game. Why don't you condemn all of that genre of game? India under the invader Mongols were brutal & more exploitive. The company came to India to trade & make money. And yes, they didn't care about the people. Other groups that came & Indian rulers that conquered did so to loot & enslave. India was not paradise ruined by the West.

I love that you covered all the foibles of how Video Game <-> Board Game adaptations (both ways) sort of fall flat, because I've felt that way for a long long time, but you put it in a way I never could seem to. For this reason, I pass on nearly every single board game that was adapted from a video game, because I've yet to find one that really scratches the same itch as the video game.

I was a bit disappointed with the game, but only because it has been hyped too much. I am of a similar mind to Tom, where it's clearly a very solid game with clever mechanics and satisfying bits...but after a couple of plays I'm pretty much done. For me, it's not very attractive of a game and the theme isn't very enticing. I'm also generally turned off by games that need you to keep trying it with new characters/spirits and keep expanding with new options to retain one's interest.

10:50 literally all the hardcore slay the spire fans agree that killing things faster is better than blocking, just look at the Guinness world record holder for longest slay the spire streaks

I have played this game for a bit and would disagree on the point at 10:41 . The starter defends are changed to block any player for 2 rather than yourself for 1 if you upgrade them. I’ve also had it when I’m the silent and just blocking everyone’s damage as long as they kill my creatures and it has worked very well. It’s impressive how they managed to balance the entire game yet keep some infinite combos.

The biggest selling point for me was that it was coop. I have friends who just don't play video games, and wouldn't play Slay the Spire even if I bought it for them. But the board game? They obsessed about it for weeks.

Funnily enough sts but multiplayer isn't a new thing. Both spire with friends and together in spire have existed for a while now and basically just have 2 different takes on multiplayer sts. So for those who don't really want to get the boardgame you can still pretty much experience multiplayer sts, provided you're on pc and can install mods.

Umm the enemies in the vg are very samey. Initially it feels fresh and new and cool new cards but quickly it just felt like a trick to get dopamine. You’re not tangibly progressing. But there’s Morta and Dead cells, both more promising than StS

The bloodborne card game is pretty decent. But yeah I got the Dark Souls boardgame and saw the bloodborne stuff and just decided against, my friend got it for the models.

We are on our second run. First one was with three players, this run with 4. We love it and think it's well worth the price. As well as love how saving is added into the game between acts. The save feature works so well for our group

those guys behind you seem to be having more fun. are they playing a newer edition? *honk* Also, depending on how cool you are with actual "native americans," it's okay to say indian because it's interpreted ironically and has been appropriated by many natives. I say "native american" mainly so that sensitive people don't feel bad. the point is it's people being offended on behalf of people they think are being offended, when no offense has been committed. cheers

For this game to go from good to great, I recommend two things: The BIG EXPANSION that adds a completely silly difficulty level, and a lot of alcohol.

Thoguh I do understand that there is a lot of plastic in miniature games, that's kind of the point, isn't it? Lots of board gamers who go into these kickstarters are also either miniature/ip collectors and/or miniature painters. Also, bashing a game you haven't yet played is something I don't particularly like when it's done. Actual gripes are fine to have, but with things you have actually experienced, no? When It's something you've seen from afar or is someone else's opinion(lot of efka vibes on the minis comments), it comes off a bit... badly, as in not really something genuine, just something you dread the thought of, but sure, whatever, let's tell everyone what we think might be true!(It might also not be!) Not here to defend bloodborne, as although I do enjoy the game, it has MANY flaws. But plastic isn't one of them, the sculpts are well made, interesting and cater to the target audience for these kind of mini games. My real gripe is with preconceptions we have but not tried and second-hand opinions seeping their way into what's being discussed and murking the point.
