Hey NerdECrafter, you put 4 instead of 3 in your video title by mistake. Also I love your vids, keep being salty. Edit: Also the frosting for the cupcakes is a stiff frosting or a no liquid frosting. You just have to keep stirring it till it thickens up. Also its best to use a whisk to stir it. You need to beat up the butter till it's smooth first then add the frosting mix. Don't use any liquid till the butter and the mix are fully mixed together and it looks like frosting. If you add liquid you'll get a lumpy mess. To be honest this kit seems to be pretty bad at explaining that this is the way you should be making the frosting.

Here's a tip from someone who went through culinary school! Easy way to pick up eggshells out of your eggs is to use the shell, no joke. Grab it, and run it over the shards of eggshell, it'll pick them up practically instantly.

Hi, to fix the frosting you should try milk. Also, you used a spoon and a spoon does not convert to a proper tablespoon or teaspoon. This might have caused some problems. It could also be that the kit is disastrous.

They also used olive oil and not vegetable oil. You see Sika holding the bottle in one of the clips. Thier measurements are off for sure. That is one reason for a kit to fail.

What really helps with frosting is not using melted butter, but room temp softened butter, you want to cream the butter with sifted powdered sugar. The butter cream comes out soooo smooth 😊

They've done this a few times with a "use a tablespoon" and they use a literally table spoon instead of a tablespoon measure and then go "It didn't work right" - well yeah you measured it wrong. Also the ratios made it seem like it's meant to be a buttercream, and those can look VERY dry until you get them mixed enough - I've watched a few channels that are like IT LOOKS DRY AND CRUMBLY BUT KEEP GOING, DON'T ADD /ANY/ EXTRA LIQUID IT'LL COME TOGETHER!

I bought that Ultimate Baking kit for my daughter a few years ago and yes it was garbage, but to this day I use the bowls, the spatula and the whisk almost everyday. I have small hands and they are really good quality, the egg cracker went straight in the trash though for sure.

I think she meant the kits that just add water. Fun fact: Most cake mixes that are "just add egg, water and oil" used to be "just add water" but they didn't sell because supposedly house wives felt like they were cheating their guests by doing so little of the actual baking, so they just adjusted it to "Add eggs, water and oil" to make them feel less like they were lying and most recipes in those boxes don't actually need the extra eggs and oil other than to make the cake more moist. Though several have adjusted recipes to require those items - but if you've ever seen the "Skip all that, just add sprite" type cakes, that's why.

Roe is fish eggs, caviar is fish eggs that have been salted or "cured" and placed in tins for long-term storage. So the eggs on sushi is roe, not caviar. So caviar is still roe, yes, but not all roe is caviar. Also, in America, caviar is exclusively roe from sturgeons; but in other countries it can be various fish roe. In Canada it's illegal to harvest roe from sturgeons in Manitoba, so they use roe from whitefish, pike, cisco, walleye, and carp apparently. Had to look that one up, lol.

What a shame that kits today really scam you. My family got us kits as kids for birthdays and Christmas, and I remember easy bake ovens coming with ALL ingredients except perhaps oil/water and vanilla extract. But I also remember the easy bake oven's cake mixes were eatable and they had pre-made frosting. How difficult would it be to include pre-made frosting??? I'm glad you are making these videos for consumers to buy wisely! And they seriously entertain me! :D

As someone who makes their own frosting, watching you add water instead of more milk was excruciating. If you had added more mil it would eventually become frosting. I also can't imagine how much of a pain in the behind it was to mix with a spatula like that.

I understand why the kits don’t include Vanilla Extract though. It is because it imports all the way from Madagascar and it would be super expensive to include it in all of the kits.

Most extract is imitation vanilla for exactly that reason, so it's not really a problem.

An 8 oz bottle of imitation vanilla flavor is only $0.69 though. Since these are kits designed for younger people, I think adding in a little imitation vanilla would work just fine if the companies don't want to spend extra on real vanilla extract. It would only cost pennies per kit to add in a couple teaspoons or so of imitation vanilla (especially when you consider that the companies would be ordering the vanilla in bulk, making it cheaper than what it would cost me to pick up a bottle at Target)

The first kit you where using a dessert spoon which is not a tablespoon. Dessertspoon 10ml is equivalent to 2 teaspoons. A teaspoon is 5mls. So here in Australia a tablespoon is 20ml so you actually did not put enough of the extra ingredients in to the mix. I am curious about the ice cream thing on the box from the cotton candy machine

I agree with you Jackie! And honestly there is something called shelf-stable milk that you don't need the fridge for or you can make a cake with a can of soda and nothing else. So they can include a can of soda. There are lots of ways to make a baking kit include everything you need you are so right 🎉👍 (and we already know for sure that they can put vanilla and water in bottles.)

I am living in Japan and tried many kind of those food toy stuff. As I can see. North american version seems to focus on fancy stuff that include inside with fancy package with high price.While Japanese one focus more on taste. For me , the previous set is a savory look with sweet taste and its feel wierd. But it did improve XD.
