I was able to replace the rear coil springs on my 2007 Passat with no issues. The trickiest part was getting the bolt back in the lower control arm. The rear of my car now sits at the proper height again. Thank you very much for this very informative video.

Hi. Was reading your reply and was wondering if you were getting any metal to metal rattling noises coming from the back of the car? Any vibrations? TIA!

@Mark B No. Nothing. Was a straight forward replacement. Both sides must be taken apart at once and once the entire axle is lowered the springs can be removed easily. The level sensor also needs to be unbolted.

Good video but there is kinda issue. Please tighten the nut only a little thight, and apply the final amount of torque when the car is back on the ground and at final level, because it can happen, that you "turn" the bushing out of the rear shock. Greetings from Germany !

Great Video! I had a question, My 2010 Mercedes CLS 219 had both its rear coil springs replaced recently as they were fractured. Following replacement, the rear ride height seems to be a few centimetres more than it was previously. Is this normal? In time, will the rear ride height go back to how it was on the old springs that were replaced? Many thanks in advance.
