If you're a regular shopper at Harmons in Salt Lake City's Brickyard neighborhood, you probably know Brandon Wojciechowski. He's worked there for 19 years and has made quite an impression on customers.
"We'll have lines backed up. I'll open up right next to him and try to pull customers over, because I’m thinking they’re in a hurry. No, they want to go to Brandon's line," Harmons Store Director Ryan Morris said.
More on Brandon' story here: via.fox13now.com/TilXj

this is pretty normal. Especially for those with special needs, they tend to get jobs at grocery stores and stay there for 20+ years doing the same low paying jobs. People without special needs tend to move on because these jobs dont pay enough to live on at all, so you never have time to form the same bonds with them.

During my college years, I was buying 2 cans of spaghettios but at the checkout I didn't have enough change. So I said to just get the one can but a customer behind me insisted on paying for the second. I said, "no, really it's ok. I can get it next time I just didn't bring the correct amount" but the customer paid anyway. That was almost 20 years ago but I have never forgotten that. And I try to do the same if someone comes up short. You never know the impact you have on someone. Thank you kind customer - I will always remember your act of kindness 💕.

I was at WALMART in a hurry and a bad mood. Guy in front of me had a hand full of items. When it was my turn to check out, i noticed the cashier grabbed a small package of pampers and rang them on my order and when i said something turns out it was the dudes. Wanting to avoid the kerfuffle i could see the young guy and the young cashier about to try and trouble shoot over this small pack of diapers I was just like it's fine I'll pay for don't worry about it...I was in a hurry so the girl kept ringing me out and the guy just stood there thanking me and offering me his money and I'm just thinking dude! Go away! Lol... he offered to help me with to my car and I'm no dude it's fine..have a nice day...he went on to tell me that his girl told him the baby needed diapers that was his main reason for coming to the store and i don't know how much it means to him cuz he's on his last few dollars until he gets paid... you just never know how far small gestures reach. I had a teen nephew and his dead beat dad, my brother at my house and I was replenishing supplies that they selfishly deplete without any regard are care of how burdensome they were to me and i was REALLY angry...that dude gave me perspective. Helped me as much as i helped him paying for that small package of off-brand pampers

People like Brandon have the gift to see that we're all connected and he feels that connection. This is why he thinks of his customers as his family. He has a fulfillment most of us are lacking and he probably never feels alone or forgotten. It's a blessing.

@@bobhall7257 This. It actually should _not_ be news. And how embarrassing for the “refugee” (weird detail for them to include about a large bag of Cheetos purchase). Nonetheless, there are many of us who help our “neighbor”, but I’m sure not enough for it to be common. Be well, All.

I had a cashier do that for me once, when I was a few dollars short. He pulled out his wallet, & put the few dollars in. I just started bawling and said why, and he said for years you come in here and you were the one in line when someone was short, you would just pay for their whole groceries, or give them the amount they were short, now you've fallen on hard times, and this is just repaying you. I got in my car and just cried and cried and cried. I wish there were more people like him. 🤗💙
