Lol the prices are crazy here overall. But the ones he shows are usually in prime location and renovated high end to bring in max rent. So you could live further out and get a bigger place. Typical apartments here are usually old and beat up looking with slum landlords that refuse to fix anything. Microwaves and dishwashers are not usual here either.

I feel so thankful to live in France. Our wages are lower, but I get a really cute apartment very similar to those in a gorgeous small town near Paris for less than 500€ a month. I can relax in the country and hear the birds, but if I need to be in Paris, I hop on a train and I'm there in less than an hour. But even if I wanted to live in Paris itself, it's cheaper than New York by a wide margin - I'd say less than half-price.

I'm in Ft. Myers FL, and the rent costs are ASTRONOMICALLY HIGH. I'm a crappy, crime and drug ridden trailer park area in the county.. You get a 1970s single wide trailer with 1bed/1bath, no AC (so you need the window units, which sucks because that makes it more accessible for theives to break in), might have W/D hook ups, very crappy insulation, windows have never been replaced or resealed, siding is only partially there, never been upgraded in and the carpet has never been replaced all all for $1800 a month (and thats the low end). To rent an apartment or duplex in the county/in a decent neighborhood, you might get 1 for $2000+. You want a house, be ready to pay $2300+. If I rented out my 3/2/2 + den, 1800sqft house for $2750 or more. Its STUPID. Oh, and also, you need 1st, last & security deposit. Pay for the application for your credit check and background check. You ALSO must make an income of 3x your rent monthly. PATHETIC

The first one is a walkup one-closet, er, one-bedroom with enough space for a single person who doesn't do much cooking. The second one at least isn't a walkup. The third one is ridiculously small but tries to make up for it with higher-end fixtures. Charles' apartments are pricey, but all the rooms are large by NYC standards. For value by square footage, they win.

YES - that would be a great addition to his walk-throughs. I lived in an apartment where we had that issue. Our solution: before putting anything in the fridge, we were able to lift the lower shelf in order to REMOVE that "blocked/useless" crisper drawer entirely. Then we could at least make use of the space. (bonus - I used that fridge drawer in a weird kitchen cabinet to store my dish towels, since we only had 3 small kitchen drawers.)

I pay £504, ($619.92), for a 2-bed house in Leeds. Albeit, the area isn't all that great, but I'm within a 10 minute walk, (if that), of a bus stop, where I can get a bus directly into the city centre. The house has central heating, double glazing, a window fire escape and the street is fairly quiet.

Let me warn anyone interested in that one bedroom overlook the courtyard. My mother's apartments overlooks a courtyard and she's on the fourth floor. The noise coming from the people who gather in the courtyard is insane. Thankfully the people go out there during decent hours but the holidays and summers they can be out there for hours. It's very quite for sleeping but all your need is one asshole and they usually make themselves known first.

I liked that last apt the best. It had an interesting floorplan. The kitchen was better than most of them despite the end of the counter by the fridge being kind of blocked unless you are a very tall person with long arms. But that's certainly better than the kitchens where you can't open the fridge all the way! That makes it so you can't even use the crisper drawer since the door of the fridge would bar you from opening it all the way. And those bathrooms where you have to be a contortionist to use the toilet... how do they not manage to think that through? A pedestal sink would have been better than a cabinet, so you'd have room for your legs. Goodness gracious! LOL 😃

Charles always has the good apartments. Elevator, top floor what's not to like bur the price. I wonder if in the last apartment the water valves under the sink weren't turned ed all the way. Pressure seemed very low. Frederich is an American company but the name is German not French..LOL

I think the "tub" in the second apartment is either a shower base or a very large sink bowl. So weird. Probably the former since there is a shower control. Maybe it's a shower with an option to bathe without the shower. Still, weird. In another apartment where the refrigerator door did not clear, it's useable but you can't pull the bottom right drawer out to clean or easily reach to the back of it.

These prices are insane. In Munich (one of the most expensive cities in germany) for around 6000 bucks, you get a 2152,78 square foot penthouse!

It's crazy to me how different the prices of apartments/houses are in different states. Like in Texas you can get a huge house for $3k a month easy. But NYC is beautiful, so I'm sure it's worth the money!

Like the one on the 6th floor from Oklahoma here and this always blows my mind how much you guys are willing to pay for such a small place. Its wild to me considering I get almost 1000 square feet 980 to be exact for 400 dollars and its not luxury but not trash either.. so its like wow! Now place is almost 100 yrs old with a 20 yr old remodel and I supply fridge. But still man its crazy to me!

Loved this video. These are new and clean wow I really like that the 2bedrooms are perfect with the rooftop decks and the balcony and a linen closet washer and dryer. These are perfect for a New Yorker that wants to live in Brooklyn. I heard that people who live in Manhattan don't go to Brooklyn. How snobby. See ya

The only good apartments where the last three! lol. If anyone in the comments is moving to NYC and you're just starting off and don't want any roommates, I recommend you move to Brooklyn, Queens or Staten Island and commute to the city if you work or go to school there! You will find better places to live for half the cost.
