I think so too. This OT1 phenomenon is truly the MOST TOXIC in ANY fandom anywhere. One reason I've stopped commenting on SB19 is that lately there's just too much heat from all sides- both from inside and outside the fandom, which makes it all the sadder. We can have our faves- preferences are normal- but hating someone because you think it's part of loving another- that's ridiculously petty and stupid. Love isn't like bread- it's not like breaking off one piece of that bread and giving it to someone you like means having smaller pieces for everybody else. It's not easy to be always fair or to love people equally- that's true- but loving someone MORE is not synonymous with hating others or inducing jealousy and rivalry just to show how dedicated and loyal you are to your one true idol or favorite. ALL FANDOMS have TOXIC fans... that's also true... but I think there's a way to correct- and what the members have done- which is to speak against such toxicity- is the right way to set boundaries. I just wish others can be just as mature as SB19 on this issue. There are companies that actually encourage and feed the toxicity to attract more attention- but SB19 isn't like that. They know there are BOUNDARIES to be respected- and we need those boundaries to keep the toxicity and the narcissism at a minimum so that they don't end up poisoning the entire community.

Very true. Wala ang isa man sa kanila at ang A”tin kung wala ang SB19. They know each very well ( their strengths, weaknesses, vulnerabilities) more than we do since 5-8 years na silang magkakasama at magkakaibigan. As a lumang tao, I've seen my fair share of OT1's. But what SB19 taught me was to be discerning because there are people who purposely create these kind of chaos within the fandom. SB19 always addresses issues within our famdom and is not afraid to tell us how they feel about things even if it will hurt us or even if it will make them lose some fans. Because they know, the true ones always stay regardless.

I love this video so much that I didn't skip any ads to support Chuck. And, it's not just about me gloating that someone already speak up about the toxicity. It's about the heavy feeling we have been carrying that some people out there is ready to ruin and defame the other members just to lift their bias. And, today, that heavy feeling somehow lightened because, finally, finally, finally, may nagcallout na sa kanila, with this intensive edits. Iba wiring ng utak nila. Yung perception nila sa mundo nakakaiyak. I wish they'd listen more to Ken/Felip. If they are true fan, they wouldn't do this to him. When I watched that podcast, I was glad na nabrought up yun ni Stell. He have set a reminder na although berry ako, I have to commit to love them all. These are the kind of fans that do their best to break up a group, when one gets his ego boosted enough that he believes that he is the best one in the bunch. I hope that the boys are mature and professional enough to withstand such pressure and not let these toxicity get into their heads. I will always be an Aurum. But i am half baked in calling myself an A'tin. Wayback 2018, I came across these 5 talented individuals during my most down moment. I came from a very very very bad breakup. And they saved me thru their songs. Pandemic came, i almost lost it since i was working in the frontlines. And yet they saved me again. I have my bias and most favorite, but then again I have not come to a point of saying anything bad against anyone of them nor ill-wishing against a member. The group is like a jigsaw puzzle, one cannot be completed if a piece is missing. Great analogy, eh? Yes! Take one out of them in the picture and there's no SB19. Sadly, not all A'tin thinks the way the Lumang Tao thinks. They made a fab of coining out OT1. Sure, you can have OT1, but do not defame other members just to make your OT1 outshine the other. Because again, these 5 men shines as one. The true clout chasers are those who has OT1s, not the parents nor the boys. And that made the fandom toxic. It is but inevitable not to have any toxic fans but it is getting worse as the boys rises to superstardom. And ig that's the reason why most Aurums go into silence. We are still here, we still exist but we cannot afford to join the bad bandwagon. We do not have a stan account, we do not go by fake names. We stay on what and who we are because that's what the boys taught us.

Not just OT1, but also OT2, OT3 and OT4. When K released "Palayo", there are fans of other members who questioned "Ba't sya ang unang nagrelease ng solo?", "Aalis na ba sya sa grupo?", ... Every member may mga solo stans, mas marami nga lang ang kay K. Yung ibang solo stans (other 4 members) gumagawa ng troll accounts para i-bash si K pero di lang talaga napapansin yung mga hate posts; mas nahihighlight yung mga hate posts ng mga solo stans ni K since marami sila. But to be fair, lahat ng hate posts need i-call out regardless of the numbers/engagement. Hindi dapat magdouble standard, wag maging narrow-minded. Regarding naman sa mga biases, di talaga maiiwasan na may member/members who gain much favors. Ang importante, wag gumawa ng shady/hate posts to other members. As for me, sa group (SB19) at kay Ken/Felip lang ako nakafocus. Wala namang masama kung sa solo, kay K/F lang ako nakasupport. His singing voice and songs are my preference. Since kasama sya sa group, then I also support the group. I don't make or response to any shady/hate posts, nagbabasa lang ako. Though sa Go Up era ako naging fan and then almost 2 years after nagkabias, medyo naglow-key support na ako sa group at active kay K/F. Ang dami kasing nangyayari sa loob ng fandom. But still, I want to see the five of them together succeed globally. Lima pa rin HSH.

One thing toxic OT1s do is exaggerate the hate their idols receive from the fandom. May mga comment na di naman talaga hate, pero they would consider as one. Minsan kukuha pa yan ng hate comment sa FB, Tiktok, etc then ipopost sa X para makita ng marami pati ng mismong artist, para pakita sa kanya na maraming hate syang nakukuha. They don't really care kung makita yun nung mismong artist kasi nga meron silang goal and narrative, gusto nila patunayan yun para lang ma-feed kadeluluhan nila. All for them and not for the artist. They always say they're "protecting" him but in reality they are just hurting him at imbes na tamang support lang yung iba A'tin na iba ang bias nawawalan ng gana, kasi nga toxic nung ibang fans nya. This negatively impacts the artist, nababawasan yung support nakukuha nya. Akala mo naman kaya ng mga OT1 punuan lahat ng yun.

Nagcocomment sila na kesyo kinakawawa idol nila while they are purely hating&commenting below the belt on other members, may comment pa na "wag tayong magpakaipokrito aminin natin na may OT4" kahit wala naman OT1 lang nkikita ko so far, yung idol daw nila is nagpapakatotoo while yung iba daw is hindi porket hindi lang direct sumagot, pero pag may nagpakatotoo naman sa opinion nila or pag pinagsasabihan lang kahit wala namang hate sasabihin na naman nila na "nang hahate " at naiinggit daw, meron pa sinasabi na may silent hate daw sa idols nila while hinihate din nila yung isa, obviously naman na sila yung nagdedelulu kasi wala din silang maiprovide na solid evidence, tiaka meron pa porket may imperfections lang yung isang member dinadown na or inaassume na ang buong katauhan nya, ikinocompare pa nila sa member na iniistan nila. Seryoso, I cannot believe na pati magulang nila ginaganyan ninyo?! Apaka low quality naman. Parang borderline narcissistic na pag ganyan. Mag mature na tayo, palawakin sana ang pag iisip, think before you click. sana baguhin ang kailangang baguhin, hindi pagpapaka peke yan kundi pag grow bilang isang tao kasi ang pagiisip at ugali nababago tlga yan. kawawa din kayo pag ganyan kayo mag isip in real life! imagine pag ganyan ang ugali nyo pag nagka anak kayo kawawa ang mga bata. In the end fan lang tayo hindi natin sila pagmamay ari at hindi lahat alam natin sa kanila kaya respeto lang at let us appreciate them/our bias without bringing others down and if you comment opinions dapat constructive lang or healthy discussions. Tama it's okay to have our biases, but if mag bash na or sisira-in na ang ibang member ng gropo para lang i-angat or mas magiging positive tingnan or pakinggan ang favorite nila, then that is a different story. Hi Chuck, I want to say I really love your narration and creativity in your videos. And my comment is not about you coz I respect your views and thank you for supporting SB19. Anyways, my concern is not the so-called OT1, it is about OT4 or even the anti-SB19. SOME of these OT4 are showing double standards (yung tipong lahat sila nagkakamali, pero yung mali lang nung isa ang pinapalaki at ini-issue) and double crossing anti-SB19, who are disguising as A'tin and make issues between the members. At tama ka, walang effect sa mga boys ang mga issues na mga yun. But it is just so unfair to the member being the victim of double standards of the OT4/double crossing of anti. Kaya his fans are just defending him. That made me think if OT1 really exists. But I believe more on the existence of OT4. Why? For the so called-OT1, they may love only 1 member, but I don't think they will hate the other 4, since their focus is only on that 1 member and doesn't mind the other 4. But for OT4, they will support the 4 but they will hate the other 1 especially if only the fault of that one is being stressed out, and everything that 1 does, they will bring out the wrong in him...lahat isisisi sa 1. I have read a lot of these OT4's side A and side B comments, in favor of any of the/all 4 and against the action of 1, kahit lahat naman sila ginagawa yun. Can we blame the fans of that 1? If all they want is to defend him and to the point na kapag sila na ang oopensa, sila na ang napapasama. Again, some but not all, ma-guilty na po ang maguilty hehe. My thoughts and as per observation lang po. Thank you for featuring SB19 again. I am an SB19 fan, with bias but without bias wrecker.

I agree with you Chuck, to have a bias is completely understandable, wag lng i-bash yung iba na hindi nila bias. Although i feel bad whenever people say "OT1" parang fingers are automatically pointed to sisiws. What hurts more is that the hate is now directed towards Ken when he is not nmn to blame kung may solo stans sya. Lahat nmn ng members have OT1 fans. As a final word, i just want to appeal to OT1 fans to stay kind. Support your bias without bashing others. Let's rid ourselves of any negativity.

Thank you Chuck for discussing OT1. It is so disheartening when fans within the fandom cause some rift. Just dont mind them with their negative comments because SB19 brothers love and respect each other, none ever puts another down. Likewise we A'tins should do the same, love and respect should be our code for our MahaLIMA and to each other.

Thank you for addressing this issue Sir Chuck... may kung ilang gabi na din hindi nagpapatulog sa akin nang mahimbing yung inis ko kapag naaalala ko yung mga nababasa kong comments ng mga OT1 na nang-da-drag nang ibang members para lang mai-angat ang paborito nila. Gustong-gusto kong pumatol pero palagi ko ina-alala yung sinabi ni Stell at Pablo sa podcast nila regarding this issue... Minsan din talaga mahirap sundin yung sinabi ni Pablo na "choose to be kind".. ang ikinalulungkot ko lang eh proud akong maging part ng A'tin lalo na at leading ang fandom natin dito sa Pinas...i hope kagaya nang samahan ng SB19 na talaga namang napakagandang brotherhood eh ganun din sana ang maging example ng mga A'tin sa ibang mga fandom...ang kaso yung maliliit na issue na ganito ang nakasisira sa image ng A'tin at nadadamay pa ang SB19. Naging worry ko din na baka mamaya ma-apektuhan din ang relationship ng mga boys sa isa't-isa dahil sa kung ano-anong negative na ipinapasok na non-existing issue ng mga OT1. Kaya minsan maganda din talaga mag-detoxify sa social media lalo na sa X at tiktok kc dun ako pinakamadaming nababasang mga ganitong issue eh.

I really love your videos, Sir Chuck! Again, lagi ko din sinasabe sa mga reaction videos ko. Wala akong bias sakanilang lima. Like, how i love previous boyband na minahal natin. (A1, nsync, backstreet and etc) kahit sa mga banda na nakasanayan natin. Gusto natin sila kasi sila yun. Kapag may kanta tayong naisip, the word was "aaaa, kanta yan ng (group artist)" hindi mo siya maisip na ah kanta yan ni kasi grupo yung mga yun. Pinakinggan natin sila as SB19, not individual. Magkakapatid sila kahit di sila magkadugo, katulad ng pagmamahal natin sa ibang tao. Madalas turing natin skanila kadugo na. Mahalin natin sila. Suportahan sa lahat ng kaya natin. Mula sa simple at pinakatodong suporta na kaya nating gawin. May pera man tayo o wala we can support. I started checking twitter X to be updated then I saw those OT1 posts before..I thought ang toxic pala, but thankfully meron parin maraming nag popost sa twitter noon na mabubuti and magaganda..hindi talaga yun nakaka premium.. nakaka discourage cya, but I am thankful that It did not stop me supporting SB19.
