Thanks to Ogie Diaz for this pero let's clarify issues first, lest we pacify ourselves from demanding apology. The discourse is not just be about publicity stunt--whether this insult results to greater fandom or not, or if this issue sparked curiosity about the artists. The issue is deeper than that. It's an affront against Filipinos who want physical enhancements, as if taking away their right to represent Filipino culture simply because of their adaptation to global trends. In popular culture studies, this is the phenomenon of glocalization (globalization + localization), which is not intrinsically wrong. Nativists like Ted Failon should go back to precolonial Philippines if they keep on reducing nationalism simply by the structure of their nose. Thanks but no thanks to Ted Failon. A'Tins should still clamor for apology.

Also I think the argument that Justin's nose is original is a good clarification to establish but the unintended consequence of this argument is it downplays other PPop members who had nose enhancements. Our consistent argumentation should be that while Justin's nose is original, 1) every person, artist or not, has the right and liberty to have enhancements; (2) doing so does not negate their nationalist representation.

Ogie missed the point though. The issue isn't that Ted Failon made a big deal out of Justin's nose. It's the fact that people would rather look Justin's face rather than listen to his music, which was the main topic. Justin was promoting his music, not his face, so bakit yun ang pinagtuunan ng pansin ni Ted Failon? That's the main reason bakit umalma ang A'Tin. Umalma ang community kasi a veteran journalist should know better and be less superficial.

Actually yung sinabi ni Ogie is exactly what SB19 has been reiterating throughout the years in their songs, especially BAZINGA. "Hate niyo'y gasolina! I'm fire, I linger!" 🤣 Obviously we won't give Ted the kind of "thank you" na normal, it's more of how SB19 thanks their haters for fueling them in creating better crafts every single time. No reciprocation of hate, just letting their success speak for itself. Kaya all in all, wag na tayong mag-invest ng attention and emotion sa mga taong tulad ni Ted. Mas magkaka-idea lang yan sila na magpatuloy mang-clout. I think enough na that we made it trend so that he'll notice his mistakes in keeping that kind of backward mentality in 2024. Don't engage if di naman worth it. While an apology would be great, Justin honestly doesn't need an apology from him since, Idk, relevant pa ba si Ted? I mean, he spoke out of ignorance, so I figured nahihirapan na rin syang maging relevant with the times. Karma will get him since it's a natural consequence of his decisions and actions. Ang importante, we showed them that we'll be here for Justin and SB19. They'll think twice before blabbing without thinking. Oh alright Chuck… I know you’re trying to make sure A’tin doesn’t get Ogie Diaz’ comment the wrong way, and he has a point- a lot more people knows of SB19 after that Ted Failed-on remarks. It didn’t help Ted but it helped Justin. However, we can’t always be “looking at the bright side” all the time. This is like watching Benny Blanco disrespecting Jollibee and all it represents and then reading a comment saying “look at the bright side, Jollibee sales are up”. Seriously… Make RESPECT a standard human behavior. Respect for your fellow human beings, other culture, younger or older. For some reason, I see some comments in X saying SB19 should still show respect naman sa nakakatanda sa inyo. Wow… You want the younger generation to respect disrespectful elders? Uhhhh…. NOPE!
