One of my favorite scenes in Casino. I couldn't seem to find the scene anywhere on KZbin so I decided to upload it myself.

It’s honestly extremely realistic. At first you realize what she’s telling you is clearly a lie, then she tells you to drop it. So you do; maybe you even think, is it that big a deal to me? Then you can’t stop thinking about it; why can’t she just be honest? Why does she have to lie to me about something this tiny? It’s my money, she can’t even respect me enough to tell me the truth about it? She’s just going to lie to my face and expect me to not bring it up because she told me not to? Who the fuck does this bitch think she is? At that point you can’t help it; you have to bring it up. You have to get this argument out of the way, or you go home and spend the rest of your life a cuck. I’ve known men who chose the latter, and it’s a truly pathetic thing to witness.

Ace bizarrely fell into "love at first sight" when she was spitefully throwing that guy's chips in the air. Then later he stated she would request money and lie to him that she gambled it away. He knew how she was and must have thought it admirable. Ginger even told him from the start that she did not love him, did not care to marry him. Later he angrily accuses her "you never even loved me". But she was always angry with him, talking shit about him behind his back which I did not understand.

I agree with your comment except for rating this higher than Goodfellas. Ultimately the Ace-Ginger relationship story starts being a drag on the overall film, and that’s a demerit the earlier film never earns for itself. Casino ultimately is overlong too. To illustrate my point, I can watch The Irishman and not get bored at any point even though I think it has an even longer runtime than Casino, despite its flaws. But I have to break up Casino when I watch it. (Come to think of it, some of the Nicky subplot, the stuff where he’s doing his own thing, drags too.)

Man had it all but continued to chase a gold digging escort that told him would never change. It's the most toxic and tragic thing that can happen to any character or man. Subconsciously Ace thought he could change her, therefor proving he can change himself, after all he is a criminal money launderer for the Mafia. That's why he deep down knows they are no different, it's tragic but it makes sense at a psychological level, they are both just hurting themselves cause they deep down hate themselves.

What he was doing wasn’t being a money launderer. The casinos were legitimate businesses. What the Mob was doing with the skim is embezzling, not money laundering. If they were putting in money earned from illegal business into it, with the intent of obscuring its illegal origins, that’s laundering. But the Mob got loans from the Teamsters pension fund to buy the casinos, using front people to obscure their ownership which would have been prohibited, so it was illegal in other ways.

@@hjjjjk8399 If your wife is running around on you, you've got no "pride". It would be one thing if she was just a girlfriend but she was his wife and mother of his child. You could be the heavy weight champion of the world or president of the United States. It don't mean jack, A cyck is a cyck. She made him look like a fool in front of everybody and even worse in front of himself. I'm not exonerating her actions because she is responsible for them. But the brutal reality is that its VERY easy for a man to lose it all. She'll get bailed out time and time again, given a million chances. All it takes for a man to fall is bad luck in a woman, bad luck with money, or bad luck in life. "Women and children can be careless, but not men."
