@DM-kv9kj3 жыл бұрын
Probably because Casino Royale was his only good Bond movie, having an entire Fleming original novel to work from. The rest have been drab, dreary and pretentious shyte with the same regurgitated plot points (ie, Bond leaves the service for some reason then has to be asked back because of a big terrorist, obligatory parkour chases and Bond always covered in sh*t and scrapes and a tacked on torture scene etc..). That's why he said he'd rather slash his wrists than do another Bond movie after Spectre because he knew it was one of the worst Bond movies ever made. I've never really been able to get over the fact that he looks like some short Russian henchman or grizzled Norwegian fisherman rather than 007. The women at my work call him "Goblin Bond" 😂

Two of the *finest* actors on this planet trading stories of their work together in Casino Royale, and more... priceless. When the trailer of Sir Daniel Craig as Bond first came out for Casino Royale years ago, I *yelled* as if I was at a Rugby game watching the All Blacks! I hadn't even seen the film but it was SO clear to me immediately from just the trailer... I turned to my ex and I said, "THERE, that's Bond...THAT'S Ian Fleming's Bond, the way Fleming wrote him in the books!" Because we, who had been watching the franchise for years, had never seen THAT Bond! Not since George Lazenby had played Bond a single time, with Dame Diana Rigg, in 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Now, don't misunderstand me, I adore some of the other actors who've played Bond, but they weren't *Fleming's Bond* and as a writer, what Fleming intended when he created the character of Bond upon whom the entire franchise is built, has some meaning for me. How awesome to hear Herre Mads Mikkelsen talk about Craig, the two of them meeting, and how they both dealt with the new experience of being in this huge franchise together. Craig is also the second celebrity to rave directly to Mikkelsen about the amazing performance he gave in Vinterberg's masterpiece, Another Round, nominated March 15 for Best Intl Film and Best Director for the upcoming Oscars. Last week, famous director Guillermo del Toro Gómez spoke over Zoom with Vinterberg and Mikkelsen, praising the film, telling them how much of a cathartic effect the movie had on him and how much he enjoyed it and thought it was exceptional international filmmaking. I don't feel out of line agreeing that it is an astonishing, life-affirming film and Mikkelsen is at his very best in it. I hope the film takes both categories in which it was nominated. Mikkelsen has taken over as Grindelwald in FB3 - FB5, and despite the upset that precipitated it, I believe it's perfect casting that the studio missed their mark on 4 years ago ahead of filming FB2: Crimes of Grindelwald. Mikkelsen joined the cast outside London in January (FB3 is currently filming).

The TV Series finished at S3 because it had covered all the material in the Thomas Harris books. There is nothing for them to base a 4th season upon.

You should see Daniel’s brilliant reunion virtual chat with Javier (Skyfall villain), or that amazing bromance with Rami (from No Time To Die) - proof that the nicest people can play insane baddies!

It would be really cool if there was a scene in No Time To Die where Bond has a nightmare or hallucinates or something and we see him in a room with all his past villains, including Le Chiffre, Blofeld, and Silva. Would love to see Mads cameo in some way.

It is truly wonderful to see this reunion/recollection/conversation 15 years after Casino Royale. CR stunned me back in 2006, and watching them have so much fun, giving insights into their roles and how they felt at the time, is just so good.
