Really nice. Too bad the modules can't just snap in and out, for really quick swapping without screws.
@joeydurant62672 жыл бұрын
Yeah I can't imagine there isn't a suitable quick connect that would do the trick... Well... Maybe the material of the steel plate makes it harder to do that without the 'snapping' parts failing too quickly. Idk if that reads... but that specific point the only thing I could see being a problem.

Baxter, thank you for using the word "ilk" in a sentence that wasn't negative. It's a word a lot of people think means negative things, but it doesn't it just means like or kind.
@randa43822 жыл бұрын
Im a weirdo about words... possibly verbose. Ive generally always used ilk as a complimentary... 'of that ilk' meaning a higher caliber or upper echelon. But for some intangible reason i can absolutely see how it *feels* negative... the only other short 'I' word that pops to mind is 'ick' so maybe its the association? But just wanted rant for a bit.

So this was the same thing that Fender did with the Strat Dlx Plus. Instead of cards changing pickup and tone, it uses modular switches to change drives. Which in many ways it's the same thing as an S1 switch.
@24avenged242 жыл бұрын
Ya, while it's neat and sounds pretty good, both Fender and Gibson have tried the on-board effects thing before and neither has seen any real success with them. That being said the custom shop is probably the best way to do things like this, there is people who are interested, but not enough to do production models (again).

During the intro, I thought they were effects in the guitar but then dismissed it and thought you hit a pedal or channel switch. This is really cool innovation here.
@davideade36412 жыл бұрын
Very cool concept but....I have one hang up with it. When switching from a clean to dirty channel, you are usually on a down swing of a chord or a note so to switch at that very moment is impossible and as a result, you hear the static kick in before any notes are played on the dirty channel. Perhaps a push button switch where the right palm meets the body would allow you to kick/bump it on and off without having to reach up to hit the switch on the horn causing the pause. Then again you may accidentally hit it during normal playing as well. Hummm...just thinking out loud....carry on.

Haha... I can't imagine the price on this guitar. I mean, I can really appreciate the artistry and attempt at something different, but I don't know. I guess I'm old school. Seems like a LOT of hassle for something I can get out my multi-effects unit. With way more flexibility. This just feels gimmicky to me. I am so turned off by the way people drool over these master built guitars. There's really nothing special about them that any competent person can achieve, especially given the price. If I handed Baxter one of my own factory Fenders that I fine tuned, and told him it was a mater built, he'd be creaming in his pants and going on and on about how fantastic it played and felt and sounded, etc. It's all marketing kids. Don't fall for it. Now GET OFF MY LAWN!

It's cool but I'm picky about certain aesthetic touches on Jaguars. In particular I just cannot abide by those American Pro tuners and the "spaghetti" Fender logo. It makes the head stock look like it came off one of those Fender Tornado's or Cyclones from 15 years ago. For me, no matter what kind of modern appointments they come with, a Jaguar must have the vintage style "Kluson" tuners (at least aesthetically if not mechanically) and the CBS era "transition" logo they came with originally. Also Fender - Why have you still refused to get the correct pre-CBS Jaguar head stock shape right?? Even when you did the American Vintage Series and in your Custom Shop "vintage" relics and NOS Jaguars. The head stock Fender has used on Jaguars since they started making them again in the late 1980's with the MIJ/CIJ and AVRI is neither the correct pre-CBS shape, nor is it even the CBS era head stock shape. Every other vintage spec Fender has gotten it's pre-CBS era head stock shape done correctly _except_ the Jaguar. I know the differnece is relatively minor but for people who absolutely love vintage Jags, it really is a bummer!
