Where the steel case Casio digital variants always flounder is the dimensions/case proportions relative to the resin case designs. They just become too big and lose the sleekness That makes the vintage Casio so wearable and so great in my opinion.

I see a lot of cons on this watch like the lack of timer, 1 hr stopwatch instead of 24 hr, the back plate design, the 3 bar WR, but ultimately the lack of 24 hr format is what stopped me from buying one.

I've got the black one with the green screen. Yeah the legibility is poor, the buttons crap, and there aren't many functions but damn I still love it.

That's good Sim, it's a lot better to have Casio with a metal case than with some rubbish plastic bezel like Casio used to make 40 years ago (which would rot away after a while). Thing is ugly as .... but it isn't useless, it's doing the job. For example, only stupid like me can pay 250-300 USD for a Casio DW5040 which is extremely basic (that's all it should be is it? that's a definition of the watch) but it's also doing the job. Hourly chime, a stopwatch, a calendar, LED backlight inside the metal case isn't really a definition of basic you know? That's a lot. I don't think a batteries are downgraded, I think they are just marked different. Some of my squares are from 7-15 years old, officially rated battery life 2-3 years but after almost 10 years, I replaced only 1 battery.....yesterday. Even a battery at my daily driver DW5600 isn't replaced at least 3 years even though it's rated at 2 years. To be honest, this is a first time that I see Casio without 24 hour format, that's crazy....I think some Casio engineer under the influence simply forgot to code it in the software. Don't be surprised if they make titanium MRG - A1100 with the idea to sell it for 3000 USD....and people will buy it probably. Good video, good watch

I don't know the price of manufacturing, but the difference between plastic and metal is significant. Plastic is soft so a mould can be used for easy, fast production on the other hand steel involves more, machining. I assume cut, milling and drilling, which takes more time. Beside plastic, aluminum or aluminium/zamac can also be used for moulds I assume that's what they use for the apple cases, it's faster simpler and cheaper than machining.

That's true. Overall I'm happy with it. I'd rather be critical of the price because there are other basic-level features this watch is missing, but I still like it.

@@degenerateWA yeah, I know I don't really understand those either. that the stop watch goes up only to 10 and there's only a line in front of the number, it doesn't look that good, would have preferred the look of the standard f-91 module stopwatch going to 100. I'm ok with having only am or pm, but it's not even PM it's just a P ... why? it's suppose to be post meridiem.

Check out the DB360 its coated resin but this is probably the most feature packed casio ive seen. The databank function lets you put in your name in the watch display. Main reason I bought it

I am a student. I rely on a stopwatch and a countdown timer to pace myself in my studies. I need a stopwatch that can measure past an hour. Quite hard to find a casio watch that does that most of them stop measuring at 59:99. Casio is a fossil of a company.

As a huge Casio fan this has not been on my radar and until your video I did not know how bad it truly is. When Casio makes a dud and it's not that often, they really make a dud. There is nothing that would make me want that one. Nothing.
