Its not for me but I can see the appeal. If all you need is a retro inspired, stylish watch that could work in the office or on the street then that will do you. It feels a bit lost on my 8''0 wrist. Thanks for sharing Chris!

Great review, it didn't look bad on your wrist 👍. When I got nostalgic for 80s style digitals, I bought an Armitron Sport, because it looks much the same but has a stainless case and 50m WR. It was fun to wear and worked very well apart from the dreadful light. It did feel tiny, and I ended up giving it away and replacing it with a DW5600e, the G-Shock has 200m WR, a great back light and best of all a countdown timer the only thing I use regularly and at £50 on Amazon it is great value too.

The power of nostalgia, interestingly the 5600 has an oddly timeless quality whereas the 158 feels of its time, at least in my febrile imagination! Thanks for watching

@@gorillasinthewrist I agree, the original square G-Shock design really is iconic, as recognisable perfect as the Royal Oak and Sub, but at a price almost everyone can afford.

Isn’t there a way to check if genuine? I think you hold the two left buttons and bottom right at the same time and it activates all the pixels of the display.
