In the UK the Casio costs between £25-30. The Skmei can be picked up for less than £6! Build quality is very comparable between the two brands. The case and bracelet construction is identical, to the point you can actually swap parts between the two. I own a number of Skmei models and the quality never fails to disappoint.

I have several SKMEI watches, and so far none have disappointed me. I think a more accurate SKMEI comparison for the Casio AE1200 would be their 1373/1382 models. They make another version of the 1299, which is the 1335, and as far as I can tell, the only difference is that the 1335 is another cheapie but it has a steel bracelet. I actually bought several of the 1335 models specifically for the steel bracelets to put on my Casio Æ1200s and because they were wicked cheap. Under $10 each. I figure I got a good deal, even just to throw the watches away after harvesting the band, the battery, a set of spring bars and all those tiny little Phillips screws that always go MIA. The only things I don't really like about these SKMEI models are the color of the LCD panels are off. My silver SKMEI has a almost greenish tint, and my black one has a darker silver or gray tint. Then there's the font itself. It's bolder and easier to see, but it looks plain; there's no slant to the font at all. And finally, the EL backlight. I like that SKMEI is actually trying by including it on most of their offerings, but it's mostly illegible unless you're looking at it straight on. Once you tilt the watch just a tiny little bit, you can see the green, but the text is cometely washed out. But overall, I do kinda like their version of the Casio Æ1200, as long as it's the 1373/1382 versions.

Got my Skmei Wed. I'm VERY impressed! Had to watch a KZbin video to learn how to shorten the band. It looks great and fits perfectly now! I might order anther in Rose Gold.

I have a couple versions of this, in addition to the casio original. SKMEI makes another version of this watch, 1373 and 1382, which are jam packed with features. It has all the basic functions of the Casio AE1200 plus it has a remarkably accurate digital compass (must be calibrated before first use) plus it's also a true World Time, EL backlight, step counter, step counter memory, step pacer, and that little clock in the top left corner, even though it isn't an actual clock, it also isn't just some arbitrary segments that just flash, but it does actually count the seconds up while in the regular timekeeping mode. It's only a couple dollars more than the 1299 in this video, and it's a lot more comparable to the Casio AE1200.

Thanks for the video. A couple of personal thoughts. While this watch is not a fake per se (yes, it copies the design but does it very differently and uses its own name), it costs merely 10 or 15 bucks less than Casio which you can buy everywhere (their price difference on Ebay is like 12 USD). Casio will last a lot longer and is better in terms of functions and overall quality, even LCD viewing angles are better which you can observe on this video. Why would somebody want to save a fraction of cost to have the product that is way more inferior? Just wondering. When you buy a homage to a more expensive product there is usually a much bigger price difference, but here? Meh. I do understand that for many people, especially in not so rich countries, even 10 dollars can be a huge amount of money, but come on, this particular difference is really not worth saving.

No man, you can't do this. You can't compare a real Casio with a fake one. And I say fake, don't call this homage, it is not, it's clearly a fake watch. It´s clear why it costs 25-30 pounds: you're paying for an original product, for creativity, for ideas, for true intelectual work of a group of people that resulted ina that AE1200 Casio. If you buy a Skmei you are paying for theft, for hoax, you´re paying robbers, simply. I really hate this kinda things. If a watch tells much about you, wearing a thing like a false one means you´re the same, a false and dishonest person. Simply. Sorry if this molests someone but, c'mon, assume what you are.

Thanks for this comparison video, it's useful for me. In the budget matter… i prefer to choose SKMEI, because the quality SKMEI Watch almost similar with CASIO. Even bands of CASIO too expansive, its price is half of the Watch price. And the most important all of SKMEI Watches was Waterproof.

SKMEI's no watch is waterproof. There is nothing like "Waterproof" watches. Even G-Shock watches are Water resistant upto 200 ATM. No watch is Waterproof...

I actually agree. I have the Casio (metal) where the buttons have gone bad. The SKMEI has nicer number fonts too. They both use same battery CR2025, so I find it hard to believe the casio will last 5 times longer. I have a SKMEI that is 7-8 years still going strong and very accurate.

The SKMEI 1299 is a good value for the price. It's well worth the price and is decent quality. No, not a G-Shock but the AE1200 WH isn't either.

I have both, and the casio is way more accurate (4 sec per month ahead) and the skmei more than 30 seconds ahead. but skmei is my daily beater watch for 11 dollars.
