Yes, I got mine in red, there is the white and black. Super portable less than 10 pounds. It only takes 6 AA batteries or regular plug in. Comes with a music stand, the foot pedal and Bluetooth are options. Headphone out to plug into an amplifier. The built in speakers are loud enough. You can also raise and lower an octave. Transpose is another function key+ & - …has guitar strap posts to use with a guitar strap. Was great to play around the campfire while camping last month. Awesome to have with my arranger keyboard as an additional option. The price is awesome at 199.99

This keyboard has 61 sounds, many more than those you can reach with the category and variation buttons. Hold the tone variation button and press any of the 61 (black and white) piano keys. There is some nice stuff to be found. I think they should have added a display. Some nice features like voice layering are available only through weird key combinations.

A lot of demos stress that this is an entry level keyboard. IMO, this keyboard goes way beyond entry level, and is better than some keyboards you pay hundreds more for, including some Casios that cost a lot more. The portability of this is a big plus as well.

Clearly you are a fantastic keyboard player. However, I’m here to listen to the sounds within different style contexts to hear how good, or not, they are. For example: You just played a bunch of really fast stab stuff on the main piano sound so, hard to know if the sound was good or not. :)

The ability to create music by playing song preferably at high skill level is considered by many to be the best way to demonstrate the sound quality of musical instruments also works well with stereo equipment, speakers, etc. the ability to determine the sound quality and skill of the player is sometime limited in those with low attention levels especially if they don’t like the particular song or genre choice. I’m reading the comment again and actually I’m baffled. How do you know he is fantastic at playing. It sounds like your saying he is a great player but failed to demonstrate any style in a variety of contexts. I have played the keyboard since 1980 and I watch at least 500 demos a year maybe more. This guy does solid no nonsense demos that are about ten minutes. He quickly hits the highlights without getting sidetrack and is able to skillfully demonstrate sound quality . His job is to sell these instrument s at one of the biggest shops in the world. I disagree and his managers and the manufactures from Korg, Yamaha, Roland etc . Would have requested a better representation if your comment was accurate…..these sweetwater demos could potentially selll millions of dollars worth of product.
@markaprill65013 жыл бұрын
I just watched the main piano sound. He covered 20 patches and played 20 different songs in 20 different styles and covered the main features in ten minutes . I give him a consistent score of 95 percent . I deduct tbpoint for not being Herbie Hancock slash Mozart with the charisma of a list Hollywood actor like Tom hanks. But for a KZbin Casio demo he gets a solid 95 percent score I’ve maybe watched 30 videos and I always have good idea of the sound and feature in ten minutes without being annoyed by anything weird or stupid I think that’s the point of a corporate sales video.
@vipodcasting3 жыл бұрын
@@markaprill6501 You’re a bit of a plank aren’t you. I’m happy to pop a link to my keyboard playing if that helps you determine my right to comment based on my skill level to which you seem to attach such importance. I’d suspect that the instrument manufacturers, especially with their cheaper end keyboard models actually want the demonstrators to play quickly so that you don’t have time to hear the sound sample quality and such. I’m a qualified piano tuner too by the way and some piano tuners do the same when they want to play something before leaving the job but, don’t want the customer to hear how poor their work is. Oh and for the record, I actually liked the genres being showcased here. I’m still right though about the fact that you can’t make a judgment on the quality of sound such as decay and depth and how rounded they are when they are being played like that no matter how many videos you’ve watched.

Hi Bob, great questions! You can allocate any sound and split point to the splits/layers. You can save one preset under what they call “my setup” which is detailed on page 46 of the manual here: support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/008/CTS1_usersguide_EN.pdf With that said, if these features are important to you, you may want to consider a step-up keyboard that has more easily accessible and customizable split and preset options. You covered more organ presets than any other demo I've watched. I've yet however to find any demo on youtube where the "layering " function is explained or demonstrated. First, what does Casio mean by "layering " ? One demo mentioned that each layer can be adjusted for volume. Does "layering" mean that you can select a preset, and have other presets play along with that preset at the volume you select ? Or is layering a recording feature where you record a song, and when you play it back, you can play another preset to accompany the recording ? IF this keyboard allows you to play multiple presets and adjust the volume of each one, that is an incredible feature. All the demo said was "no other keyboard has this feature". That's why I'd like to know specifically what "layering " is on the CTS1. Thanks and hope to hear from you or anyone with a CTS1. You are also a fantastic player !!!!

I bought a Casio ctx-800 last year. Great keyboard that uses the same AIX sound chip ( I think ). It has a lot more sounds close to 500, but it isn't as sleek and portable as this is. It has good speakers, but it has menu diving to get to parameters and sounds. I was wondering if I should pick this up or maybe that would be redundant?
@sweetwater3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Ed! Thanks for your interest. Great questions - first off, yes, the new Casiotone CT-S1's do also use the AiX sound engine. As to whether this would be redundant with your CT-X800, I think you've really identified the key differences between the two: the CT-S1 has fewer sounds, but is also more portable and requires less menu-diving. It also has some cool retro synth sounds inspired by the original Casiotone. I'm not certain offhand whether the X800 has those, as well. I'd say the CT-S1 would be a good addition to your lineup of keyboards! Feel free to contact me directly with any further questions. Thanks again!
