Cool video....Thank you for sharing your knowledge. For the most part, I have been able to do what u r describing in your video. I have an odd question. I have a different model of Casio keyboard. My assumption however is that your model has programmed drum patterns/beats. I really like the basic drum patterns on my Casio with the user-friendly drum fills. The question is... Is it possible to record those drum patterns into Reason? I have Reason and I have completed 4 albums on Reason so I am a big fan of the software. When I connected my Casio yesterday, I turned Local off and left Accompany on, but I did not adjust the midi channel on the Midi instrument in Reason. I tried adjusting on the keyboard, but I will try on the Reason midi instrument tomorrow. I did see that signal was going thru but the drum pattern was coming in on channel 1 which was set to keyboard. I hope that was the only issue. I am excited! At the same time, I still would like to know if u were able to record drum patterns from your Casio. In either case, thanks for sharing and Happy New Year! 😁

I'm a noob at using MIDI, so this might be a dumb question. Could I somehow connect my real guitar amplifier to an interface and into this program to add more tracks over top what is already done here from the keyboard tracks?

Do you mean with a DAW (e.g. Garage Band, Logic, Ableton, etc)? If so, then yes! You can record the audio signal from the keyboard into an audio track on your DAW, and then layer other guitar parts over the top. If you record your Casio tracks using MIDI first, then you can get them perfect first, and then capture the audio after that. Maybe I need to do a follow up video. I use Reason, but the concept is the same on all DAW software. All the best.

In short, there is a problem, I have a Casio x5000 synthesizer, I'm looking everywhere for such a program where I want to convert from an mp3 file to Ac7 format, I also tried using an excel program to convert from a midi file to Ac7 and it doesn't read the synthesizer... I don't even know where to look...

mp3 is an audio format - in other words a recording of sound. Converting that into controller data is not the easiest thing to do - there is some software called Vochlea Dubler that converts audio to MIDI, so that might be something to explore - visit vochlea.com. You might also need to separate the audio into various instruments, and AI is becoming a useful tool to that. ac7 is Casio's file format that generates the controller data that in turn plays the sounds on the keyboard. Yamaha use a different format and converting between the two is not straightforward either. In the end, you may just prefer to spend your time playing the keyboard and creating your own rhythms on the instrument itself! All the best. 😎

You shouldn't need any drivers. The keyboard should appear somewhere in your DAW as CASIO USB. So just select it and then you're good to go. I hope that helps. 😎

when i use it(in the studio one software), the audio output seems to automaticcly set to the speakers on the keyboard, and i dont know how to change it to my pc. Do u know how?

The Casio will only be sending MIDI data back and forth when you connect to a PC. If you've got an audio interface then you could take the audio output of the keyboard into the DAW via the interface or just use VST instruments within the software so the keyboard is merely a controller. Hi Jimmy, do you mean Casio CTK-240? I don't have one, but apparently you can play drum sounds on the keyboard. Is that what you mean? The CT-X will allow you to do the same - there are small drum icons printed below the keys which kind of helps you know which drum sound is assigned to each key. On the CTK-240 they are printed above the keys. Let me know if that answers your question. Sorry I can't be more helpful. All the best.

Yes. Velocity data is sent from the keyboard. The Casio will also respond to aftertouch data sent to it, but it won't generate it itself. Hope that helps if it's not clear on the video. All the best. 👍

Yes, it will send and receive velocity data. Admittedly, it's not the greatest keyboard, but I've played worse and for the price it's OK. I hope that's useful.

Hola. Sí, el Casio CT-X tiene “local on/off”. Para seleccionar, pulse FUNCTION/EDIT y utilice la numérica [1] para visualizar el elemento de menú que desea cambiar. El nombre de la función es “MIDI”. Pulse ENTER y la numérica [3]. Ahora ajuste el valor con el dial a “off local”. Gracias por su pregunta.

The audio interface is only necessary if you want to record the actual sound of the keyboard. The USB connection will allow you to connect the keyboard to a PC and through software you can capture the MIDI data and send it back to the keyboard (make sure "local" is turned off on the keyboard). But MIDI is not the sound - it's only the data that represents the "gestures" of the keys turning on and off, the pitch bend wheel moving back and forth, the tone numbers, etc. I hope that's clear! @@Danielchristopher_08 Yes, looking at the PSR473 spec it does have audio capability both as an interface and also recording and saving audio from the keyboard itself. I had a Casio PX350 Privia piano which had the same feature (apart from the interface), so somewhat disappointed it's not available on the CT-X. The Yamaha manual is better laid out and more understandable than the Casio, so it's worth checking out it's got everything you're looking for.

Yes, it will function as a basic MIDI controller. If you want to capture the audio from the Casio then you will need to connect the audio output of the keyboard to a line in channel (or two if you want left and right channels) and then you can record the audio in your FL DAW (or any other DAW). I mainly use Reason DAW, which has integrated synths, drum machines, players, and effects. But other DAW software will work just as well - it all depends on where you want to take your music.
