I've been wearing this model of watch since 1989 or the early 90's. Never worn anything else since. I go swimming in salt water with it... no problems, no corrosion. Never had one stop working. The only thing is that the rubber bands crack after a few years, so I just buy a new one. If the band didn't crack, it would probably last decades.

This watch is again becoming a popular hype and a real fashion to wear. Agree this watch is a timeless piece of (technically) cheap art, but for the Casio fans it's a priceless piece of a watch! Liked & Subbed!

I like how Contemporary the Green one looks compared to the Standard Blue one. The Green and Orange really make it seem more valuable than it actually is. And yes you're right, that green variant was specifically for the Asian Market because of a high demand. Here in India, it's priced even a lil cheaper than the standard Blue one. The difference is literally of a few Cents (for North Americans) but still, pretty cool. Ordered mine a few minutes ago!

Since when do these watches have this authentication function? I have a W-59 made in Malaysia since 2005. I had to replace the battery this year for the first time(!), but I didn't check the movement, should I dismantle it again?

The space below the numbers seems.to be narrower in the black f91.Why is that??

From what I understand the older F91Ws are made in Thailand and the newer ones are now made in China. If that's true, then your original blue F91W is probably newer than the green one. I also just picked up the green and gold F91Ws and notice the lighter grey on the straps!

I remember I won a F-91W knockoff watch as a kid in some stupid contest in late 90s ( I remember well it looked exactly the same, but without Casio branding and no water resist print, no light too, just 2 buttons). That knockoff watch broke seconds after taking it out of the packaging. Both straps broke off and God were they smelling bad. The chemical stench was so strong it made me gag and tear up. I threw that POS away. Still, genuine F-91W is cool and I was even considering buying it, but I chose W-86.

I’m really sorry you had that experience it makes you wonder what kind of people would give away a fake F-91W as a prize in the first place when the real thing is so inexpensive- maybe they did’nt know, it’s a wonder it didn’t put you off Casio for life but lm glad it didn’t……

If I am not mistaken this is a way to find fake versions. Cheap Chinese copies can’t print such small and unnoticeable letter, or if they manage to print it, this u will be much fatter than an original

is the strap different or the exact same? I have a made in thailand gold f91w and they seem to have used slightly different materials there, the strap feels more coarse and has a slightly different tone of greyish black. also the buttons are harder to press for some reason. anyway I just ordered the green one too on ebay, couldn't resist the price and I wear this watch daily

The straps are different yes. The green f91w has a slightly greyish strap compared to the blue, and does feel a little more coarse for sure.

the casio w-59 is the better f91w, the w-59 is waterproof even whem the buttons are pushed, unlike the f91w, and the look is very similar. the w-59 is an even older model, foe those who like the nostalgy about the casio watches from back then.
