I just bought this watch (the negative/"blackout’ version) literally five hours ago, from a large UK retail store (‘Argos’), and I absolutely love it. And what was absolutely amazing is that it is packaged and sealed in a plastic bag, inside a tin, which is inside a cardboard box, which had been on a shelf, which is in the warehouse that is inside a shop, and it had STILL received the atomic time signal this morning at 2:04am! It’s a great video, and it helped me make make my decision an informed one, thank you! 🙂

How do you find the black negative display, looking at buying this from argos to for sailing

@@sailingachilles7810 I took it back and exchanged it. I just couldn't get on with the black negative display. It could very well just be my age though, as there are many people who actually like the black display, but it just wasn't for me, because for me, positive displays are just so much easier to read.

@@sailingachilles7810 You're welcome. I think the best way I can describe it is that with a positive display, you just casually glance at it to read the information, whereas with a negative display I found I had to kind of study and concentrate on it more - if that makes sense?

Just received this (reverse display white on black version) as a gift, my 5th or 6th Casio but first Solar one, very happy, no need to change battery anymore. Thank you for this thorough review & guide, easier than reading that fine print guide book.

Thanks for the tutorial on this model. Just picked one up today. Love the sleep mode. It makes the watch seem more alive. Edit: as an owner of the MTG900, I needed a watch with similar features in black to match my other EDC items, (I need everything to match because of my crippling OCD).

Thank you. You are simply one of the best watch enthusiasts and reviewers on KZbin. I subscribed and dig G shock watches. I own a smart watch (T-Rex Pro) and it lasts 18-20 days on a charge (unlike other 1-2 day on Apple and Samsung) but I have realized I don't need any additional connectivity than I already have. I now appreciate, more than ever, durability, simplicity and accuracy.

Hi thank you for doing great KZbin video on the GW 7900 g shock watch. I have had my eye on this watch for about a month now and I'm going to buy this g shock GW 7900 in December 2019 as I really like this g shock. I already own a g shock myself which I have had for about 10/12 or 13 years now and it's still on the same battery and it's never lost any time at all it just keeps on going and going on the same battery in 13 years. That's why I love all of the g shock watches. Anyway great KZbin video on the GW 7900 g shock watch you went into great detail on this watch and I'm going to buy this GW 7900 g shock watch in December of 2019. Keep up the good work on the g shock watches

Those digits looks really sharp. It seems it has better contrast than some other g-shocks.

Awesome vid yet again. Never miss a casio review. Heard on some channels on KZbin that they are turning off the radio tower for the time signal in the u.s.a. Don't know how true this is or if so when they will do it. Hope they don't. As always looking forward to your next watch review 👍

Wow I found the red one, a yellow one and a navy blue one. They all cost $400 to $600 on eBay though. My pockets aren't deep enough. ☹️

Thank you for this review. I recently purchased the Casio ws210h watch which has the Tide and Moon settings and I wasn’t sure how that worked until you went over that particular mode on thecGW7900. So thank you for that Mr. Anderson. Really enjoy your video and subscribed to your channel 👍😎

I buy my g shocks used and about half the solar models were labeled in need of battery but they just needed a "solar jump start" because of sitting in darkness for so long.

Another positive regarding the gulfman series of gshocks, is that with the titanium backplate you no longer have nickel allergy reactions! Even though stainless steel is said to contain very little nickel, there is still a trace amount which some of us (myself included) have an allergic reaction to. I own the multiband5 gulfman and the standard gulfman. Both are great!

Good video. My watch came last week, used from amazon, no manual. Still working on tides. I'm in Narragansett bsy, Rhode island. I came set to NYC. Honk off byn30 minutes, but seeing a dif between lost d tires and what I see. I might tty you another band

On the moon phase window, does the black lines indicate the lighted moon or the shadow (missing) portion of the phases? Thanks for the informative videos, I have seen a few of them now. Really liking the G-shocks, and looks as though you have a nice collection.

The black segments on the moon phase represent the part of the moon that you can't see. Anything clear or no segments is the moon that is visible to you.

$59? Wow, what a deal! The lowest price I can find now is $150CAD, at Costco, and Amazon. I thought these watches would get less expensive over time, as an older model.

Only issue with all G shock , when you enter dark room , or night time outdoor cannot see time without activating light. Auto Light mechanism was helpful .

Hi Greg! Big fan of the channel. Wanted to ask, with the G-7900 (the older version) it says the temperature resistance is to -20C, however with this newer model which has all the "cool stuff" like multi-band6 and tough solar, it no longer mentions anything about minimum temperatures in the manual. From some of your videos I saw you live in a colder climate with snow - as per your experience, did you have any issues with casios in cold weather (at around 0 Farenheit for example)?

I like the functions and look of this watch but have read some bad reviews that the decorative front screws tend to fall out and the band is less sturdy than other G Shocks in this price class. Have also heard that because of its age, new ones have a solar battery that wears down quickly. Anyone have this experience?

‏I set the watch when I received it but it didn't connect to atomic time, that is, if I press the adjust button continuously it starts flashing, another press I get UTC (israel atomic time), on a second time I press I don't get automatic but off, what should I do to move the watch to atomic mode, thank you very much

I just bought a used GW7900 ik good condition for 45euro's. Is it a good deal? Wil be my 3rd G shock. Next to my Rangeman GPR1000b and GD350 black. G Shock 👍

That’s probably a good deal. I haven’t looked at the used prices lately but new ones are usually over $100. If it’s still in good condition that’s a happy note.

Hi Greg! thanks for you time and all the information you put out here for people like me ( I don't own a Casio Gshock ) I'm looking in to buying my first Gshock and I want to get one with multiband 6 but I keep hearing that is not a good idea because our atomic clock in the US might be taken out of function what is your opinion on this issue? I also reside in Northen California based in your experience does the atomic clock work on this area?

Last year there was a rumor that the 2019 budget for NIST (The National Institute of Standards and Technology) didn't have any funding for the WWVB atomic time transmitter (which is the one that Multiband 6 is supposed to receive when a Casio watch is set to a USA time zone). So everyone was afraid that the radio station would be shut down and all of our radio-controlled watches and clocks would cease to synchronize. But there was never an announcement from NIST about any shutdown and the shutdown never happened. Rumors still persist that a shutdown is going to happen but I won't believe it until I see an official announcement from NIST. I've lived in Utah for many years now. My house is about 350 miles from the WWVB transmitter in Colorado and I rarely have any reception problems here. I spent a few days in Reno, Nevada earlier this year and the WWVB reception worked there too. I would guess that you'll be fine in Northern California. You may need to follow the tips included in the Casio manuals for their Multiband 6 products. They include: Put the watch near a window on the side of your house closest to Colorado. Avoid leaving the watch near appliances, monitors and other items which could generate radio interference. Stuff like that. Or... you could start with a cheaper watch (you can get a budget Casio Waveceptor for less than $30) or clock. I found small, travel-style alarm clocks from Oregon Scientific which have WWVB reception and you can buy them for under $20... or maybe under $15. If those work well where you are then Multiband 6 should work well too.

Thank you very much, I have my eyes on the AWGM100 models and I really like the M100s model from japan ( The white color ) for it's readability I found some use M100 models on Ebay that are pretty affordable so I might order one of those to make sure the atomic clock work in my area before I order the Japanese model.

anyone know what the factory default timer is set to? I used to own this one but cannot remember what its factory default timer setting was. In the manual it reads 0:00 but I am not sure if thats how its shipped. Or if its like 10 minutes like most other gshocks (i have bought anyway).

I got an L3 signal on my g shock and it STILL wouldnt finish the signal! I gave up and just did it by bluetooth(I have a gw-b5600g-z1 which has band 6 and bluetooth atomic connection.
