This is possibly the best G Shock for value. Released in 2013 and it's still not close to obsolete. I mean triple sensor with solar and MB6!

I bought the new Rangeman gw-9400 two months ago and looked the batch number on the back that says it was made this year in april. I was surprised since this model was released in 2013. Really great watch, perfect fidget toy for adults XD. Also very easy to operate the functions, everything is logical and well put together. It's not even that huge as it appears at first but feels very rugged and tough. I wear it every day and never leave my house without it. Rangeman ftw! :)

Got one of these for Christmas after window shopping it for years. Absolutely love it. Feels great on the wrist and while I like and wear smartwatches, not having to charge this and still getting good intuitive functionality out of the watch is great. Temp sensor picks up on body heat so not the most useful feature there, but otherwise excellent. Until they come out with a smartwatch that is completely solar powered, this will be my daily driver

Very good review and comparison to other models. I actually owned the GPR-B1000, but always disconnected from my phone, the app is very poor quality, casio and buggy. So I sold it. If you want a connected watch, garmin is way better. I have this rangeman gw9400 for a long time, and it is one of the best, and still in production. The GPR-B1000 was discontinued. Recently I bought the new mudman gw-9500, the dual layer display is not that great, and the negative ones are horrible in terms of legibility. I have the positive display version. The stainless steel buttons are better on the 9400 rangeman, easier to use. The strap is very stiff, maybe after some time it will be more confortable. But overall it's a good watch, no Bluetooth and other gimmicks, just a standalone survival tool.

The Riseman and the Mudman both had temperature sensors. The Riseman didn't have the compass while the Mudman didn't have the pressure sensor and missed the altimeter and barometer. Strange why Casio sometimes recognises the thermometer as a sensor while most of the time doesn't recognize it as a sensor.
@DougFNJ2 жыл бұрын
Thats a really good question. It was also interesting whiting the Riseman and Mudman ultimately evolve to this perfect module.

@@DougFNJ it has its own flaws like the volume of the alarms and the fine markers on the compass dial.
@kma862 жыл бұрын
That baffles me as well! When they mention triple sensor, most of the time they'll highlight ABC, and leaves the thermometer unmentioned. It's kinda funny since the altimeter reading relies on the barometer sensor, while temperature is a different thing altogether.

@@kma86 agreed. The thermometer is a separate sensor so it should be recognised when mentioning triple sensor.

Hi, I wanted a reversed display as well but after a lot of research I found out that people are complaining that this display is poorly visible in daylight. So just check the reviews. Otherwise it is an awesome watch, I have it for over two years and charged it only several times on the sun or even under a desk lamp. Also you have to understand how to work with an altimeter because it depends on an atmosferic pressure sensor so it can change during a few hours even though you are not moving but for an atmosferic pressure and a relative height it is awesomly accurate. The watch has also a storm alarm but you need to understand how it works as well. I am writing it because some people are complaining that the sensors are not accurate but they just don't understand how to use the watch.

Just ordered one from Amazon France. €250, though it did go up a little as the VAT in Ireland is higher than France and Amazon adjusted and charged shipping, which would be free in France. You cannot buy the GW9400 in the UK anymore, they have no stock and the model is now discontinued.
