Super helpful video even in 2020 cause you said the keyword "Local Control" which is what I needed to be able to not hear both the GarageBand tone and the selected tone on my Casio CT-X3000 at the same time which was driving me crazy! Thank you!

@Hagbard Celine To connect the Casio CT-x3000 to a laptop or ipad you use what most people would call a printer cable (has a square tip and a normal usb tip) and you plug in on the back of the Casio port called "to host". The "to host" port is the square "printer" tip and you plug the other standard usb tip into your computer/laptop or add a (usb to lightning) adapter and plug lightning tip into an ipad. The "to device" port on the x3000 would be for directly connecting something like a usb flash memory stick, for downloading saved performances played and stored on the Casio CT-x3000. Make sense?

i have a cdp 220r and ive tried all the tips to connect to ipad garageband and i wont work any tips or is it all BS to get you to buy the bloody stupid thing? yep frustrated to the max ive bought a new ipad camera adapter read all the instructions watched the videos any help would be sweet as............

i have a Casio Privia 135. I bought a USB-Lightening cable, the USB end can plug into the Casio keyboard, and the Lightening end can be plugged into iPad. But it seems GarageBand does not recognize the keyboard. Do I need some other cable or device?

I saw this and got the connector hardware, but iPad says 'USB device is not supported' My keyboards is a CASIO CTK-800 and has a USB midi connection that works with my PC fine. Jared says this works across the Casio range but it doesn't seem to be true of all models, even if they have USB.

Are you using the official apple connector, has I purchased one of the connectors from eBay and it did the same thing with me saying not supported, so I purchased that little apple connector thing for £20, and it works perfectly.

I have a CASIO CTK-2090 keyboard that is very similar. It has the USB midi connector. I also have an iPad Air 2. I bought an iConnect Lightning to USB b cable but it does not work. I decided to go for the original Apple camera lightning connection cable but it's still not working. Any advice?
