@@bogrot69 Thanks for answering! How's the finish of the watch holding up in your experience? The other concern I have for the titanium version of the watch is to do with the relative softness of the material. I know it has some kind of super hard coating, but that seems to suggest that the watch perhaps cannot be polished/re-finished the way that stainless steel watch could later on.
@bogrot695 жыл бұрын
@@twraia Any time, I always enjoy chatting with fellow watch folk 😁 I'm not sure about Casio but I know Citizen and Seiko have a coating they apply to resist scratching. Titanium is harder than gold or platinum. My Oceanus has held up well so far but I've only had it a year or so. I was amazed how light it was for it's size. Sorry I don't have more knowledge about long term durability. I would hope the coating would prevent the watches from requiring refinishing down the road.
@twraia5 жыл бұрын
@@bogrot69 Yes that's what I find very appealing about titanium watches, they are so unbelievably light when you pick them up! I have two titanium pieces, one of them is Casio's, a MRT with the supposedly super-hard DLC coating. Although it does hold up pretty well over the years, one thing I find is it does "chip" at the sharp edge. I read from somewhere that the titanium watches from the Oceanus line have titanium carbide coating on them, which is probably why your watch has held up well. But I suspect the titanium carbide coating also makes re-finishing/polishing the watch difficult if not impossible.

Even my Electric toothbrush has an app to tell me how well I am brushing and what I need to improve on. It looks well made and nice and thin, but I expect a watch to be thin when it is Quartz. I don't want to dog quartz watches. The Grand Seiko with 9f quartz movement I heard only + or - 11 seconds a year, and there is a new Citizen watch that is Quartz that is accurate to one second a year. Cool watch. I wish these came in a 39mm size. I also wish the bracelet came with more than 2 micro-adjust positions to make it easier to get the best fit.

@@BurntPlaydoh Cool. I wish my Casio Lineage LCW-M100TS came with the 2/3rd links. That said, I was able to find the right fit and the price was much more agreeable than the Oceanus.

Oh my god that looks so nice. Would still take my Lorier at this price but it's very nice.

Those hour markers though. Quiet close to GS, isn't it? I say so because they are playing with light and it shows in the video, which is hard to capture. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2XLYWl6gLeYhaM
