Hello Casio, it's June 7, 2024. This Privia PX-5S is such an awesome board. It's absolutely insane how close it came to being one of the most perfectly designed boards along with the editing software. Was just wondering if you guys at Casio would please consider doing an updated remake of this board! The sounds could use an update due to the plethora of sounds available in today's available market. An aftertouch keybed would be a plus just as M Audio did with their White Axiom Pro midi keyboards years ago. If M Audio could pull it off with that little after touch strip they used in those boards im almost sure Casio can do it also. 9 sliders instead of six and maybe 9 knobs, all with full midi integration. Perhaps 9 buttons with midi integration as well. An upgraded LCD screen doesnt have to be anything super fancy and expensive, just a slight upgrade. The knobs, sliders and volume knob could have better markers so that their position is easily noticeable while performing with the board. Basically just clean up the Piano and Ep sound patches and add some better quality strings and pads, and synth stuff. I've included a link to a guy by the name of Levi King which breaks down a few things that could make this board the best board ever for many musicians world wide on a budget. That 256 polyphony is a true banger in this board. We love the ability to switch between certain patches and the sound doesn't cut out. Im telling you, I absolutely love my PX-5S and i would purchase an upgraded version of this board without hesitation as long as you guys add a few things without taking away the things that make it so great already. Many of us appreciate the light weight of the board also. I dont believe a little more weight due to added features and a little steeper price would bother us that love this board already one bit. I believe an upgraded version of this board would be an absolute top seller for Casio. Casio, please check out the video link I've included by Levi king. He explains some really vital things that would make this board perfect in combination with that editing software. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqe9k4pmotilas0feature=shared

The PX-5S is not an arranger keyboard. It does not have auto accompaniment or rhythms. You can use the phrase sequencer from drum parts easily by importing MIDI files.

I purchased the lightweight PX-5S to replace my beloved KronosX for gigging because the Korg was just too heavy for this 69-year-old to lug around. I like the Privia very much, but am finding the manual to be almost incomprehensible. Has Casio produced any tutorial videos that can better explain how to achieve the results shown in the demo videos?

Hi, I'd like to hear some FM pianos in this model. So far I have heard vintage "electroacoustic" pianos like Rhodies, Wurlies, etc, only. Please show me some FM samples! Thnx

I understand there are layering and easy res/filter controls, but how deep in the actual synth editing engine, or is there one? It's really hard to tell from all thse videos - can you craft your own synth sounds (from oscillators, filters, envelopes, etc) or do you just have the basic sounds with some basic front panel editing abilities?

How do you use the layering functions?

Casio was wise to construct an 88 note keyboard that was geared toward gigging musicians, that contains incredibly authentic sounds AND the ability to mold, shape and save those sounds, and keep the price under $1000. It would have been a shame to divert some of sound and construction benefits of this board toward collateral characteristics such as screen size and more programability.
@HighlandStudio9110 жыл бұрын
It's a damn shame that this keyboard isn't a workstation like the WK-7600,because the Privia's sounds are so utterly inspirational & pro-grade(whereas the WK-7600 while good for the price...are noticeably not on the level of the Privia). If Casio just charged say,$200 more for the Privia and added a bigger screen and made it a workstation...then I would not have to blow $1800 on the Roland FA-08. Why can't Casio make a serious workstation with serious sounds,rather than just stage pianos & performance synths??
@tartan114639 жыл бұрын
Philo Beddoe But PX-5S can layer split zone more than WK-7600
@HighlandStudio919 жыл бұрын
+tartan11463 You've completely overlooked my point.A keyboard with workstation functions,are equally important to me(which is why the PX-5S's layering & split functions,don't compensate for the absence of a multi-track midi sequencer.) Guess what,though?Casio has read my request and has delivered what I had asked for(the PX-560!!)It's due to arrive in October and currently,there are some Summer Namm show videos....check them out!
@tartan114639 жыл бұрын
ฺฺI think you are already know. The PX-5S is not Workstation it was Stage Piano but it has some little feature like workstation
@HighlandStudio919 жыл бұрын
+tartan11463 Of course the PX-5S isn't a workstation(but I was saying that I WISH it was a workstation.)However though...the new Casio Privia PX-560 is very similar to that of the PX-5S.Go to Casio's website or check out the videos on the PX-560 and maybe it will end your confusion. No offense meant,but I don't think you understand English all that well.

Very many problems with Privia keyboards. All of the keys make noises when the keys come up after depressing them. This noise is very annoying. An actual piano does not have any such noise when key rises after being depressed. So sorry that I purchased this keyboard. The noise is so bad that it can be heard across a room. So sad that there is this problem. Otherwise, a good instrument. But, the noise is so bad it destroys a performance. This is no exaggeration.
