Hi, my power in socket has a metal rod in the centre of it and any wires I’ve bought to power the keyboard have that same metal rod in the centre so it’s impossible to plug it in as the rods block eachother. Is there any way to help this or a wire that fits?

Yep, first of all make sure the power supply you’re trying to use has the right voltage (I think it’s 12 volts DC for this keyboard) then take a clear, close-up photo of the socket in the keyboard with a ruler showing its size. Then go to an electronics store with your power supply and ask for a suitable connector (show them the photo or take the whole piano with you if you have the strength!). Hopefully they can modify your power adapter in the store. If not, you can buy a whole new adapter from them which will be about $25. I’ve made a video about it, here’s the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWLddIFrpdpobM0

I bought this when it came out (2008?) I think i paid about US$400 including a Quik Lok keyboard stand. I bought it to have a keyboard in my living room so I could practice while watching TV (haha). Some friends of mine where preparing J.S Bach two keyboard concerto but they couldn't find a place with two pianos so they practiced in my house using my Korg N1 and this Casio Privia, they both liked the action on the Casio. Now it lives in a friends studio where he uses it as a master controller and it still feels great. BTW I always wondered who manufactured the keyboard action, is it Fatar or Casio built their own?

Hello! I have this piano but no pedal, and I would love to buy a pedal to plug into it. But I don't want to buy the wrong pedal that wont fit into the port/plug. Do you know which pedal works??
@gearfacts4 жыл бұрын
Hi, you need one with a 6mm stereo pin, it's just a question of polarity. Having the wrong polarity makes is sustain when the pedal isn't pressed, and vice versa which is of course the opposite of what it's supposed to do... So I only buy ones that have a polarity switch, then it's guaranteed to work. Apart from that all you have to decide is the size/shape of the switch you like. I think it's well worth getting the larger ones that look like a real piano pedal, not the ones that look like a little black plastic box. Hope that helps :) Gearfacts

@gearfacts5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm really glad you liked the video (please mention Gearfacts to other ppl!) and the answer is yes to both your questions. I have heard criticism of the pino sound but personally I thought it was perfectly good ...Sometimes I think people who like Yamaha/Korg etc tend to see the Casio label and then "hear" a difference that isn't really significant. It has USB, so yes connecting to computers is no problem although you might need an adapter of some kind to connect to Android or iOS-devices. Thanks again for watching :) Glynn

I have a PX 110 I bought back in the mid 2000's..still sounding great but one of the lower C keys no longer produces a note..anyone know if there is a solution to this or is it too outdated to be repaired?
@gearfacts3 жыл бұрын
The problem is probably a contact point under the key that needs to be cleaned. It's a bit of a pain taking these things apart, but it's not too complicated if you keep track of the parts as you go, and it's easy to clean the contact point once you find it.
@silentgd3 жыл бұрын
@@gearfacts how do you replace the keys when done? (especially since you have to remove pretty well a whole octave to lift up the rubber part)..I wonder how much a job like this would cost if I found a professional to do it (I live in Toronto)

@@silentgd Ah Toronto! I had a nice time there in '01. Was amazed by how relaxed and friendly everyone seems to be. Anyway, I think it'd cost something in the area of $150 here in Australia, so for the sake of all the time and stress, it might well be doing. Or you could sell it at a discounted price and use the funds to buy something new - that might end up costing you less in total.
