I had a CDP-S350. Changing from tones and rhythms does not work well. Now I have a PX-560. It changes flawlessly. It costs more, but is well worth it. Much more enjoyable, will be able to use for years. I hope Casio continues to produce this for years to come. I have had Roland and Kawai stuff in the past: expensive and heavy, forget it!
@regmason23295 жыл бұрын
Chuck you nailed it! The 3000 is a very good instrument, and the 560 does have a few "warts", BUT overall there is no comparison if your a serious performing musician- ESPECIALLY if your a solo act. The 560 just has too many advantages both onstage and off. By the way I took the Casio three pedal assembly (that is used with the stand) and cut the "wings" off and mounted it on a piece of aluminum sheet and now have a portable three pedal assembly I can gig with. I am not sure if the 3000 has this quirk or not- but the 560 will shut down completely if power is interrupted for just a split second, requiring a reboot to restart.

How about the sound library and effect?which one is better for recording ?
@regmason23294 жыл бұрын
@@Walter-gb3td Sorry, I just saw your question today. I own the 560, and have played the 3000. But, I am a solo act. So, my comments are slanted toward my use in a LIVE setting. The touch screen on the 560 makes it a dynamite live performance instrument, as you can jump between instruments quickly and smoothly. Sound wise, the differences are very small. IF, the noise on the 560 keybed bothers you, it is possible to remove it (see the Casio 560 forum). As far as recording, I have not recorded with the 3000. BUT, I have recorded the 560 (going thru my mixer and outboard gear) and it records very well. There is so much I could say- but simply the 560 is one fantastic instrument. For me, playing solo the 560 is a no brainer! AND, I did not even touch upon the Hex Layer feature- awesome! I could afford a much more expensive piano- BUT I choose the 560- it's that good!

Wonderful video Chuck. Explains the differences very well indeed. Of course these are not as you say really comparable but people do ask. Really it just comes down to if you want a synth go for the PX560 and if you are more piano focused but want a bunch of great additional presets then the PX-S3000 might be the way to go. Both great keyboards but aimed at slightly different types of player.

3 years later PianoManChuck, i never bought the px-560. im a hobbyist producer/musician trying to go pro and the px-560 was initially on my radar because it seems to have some nice songwriting tools. i recently saw a video review on the 560 where the guy just basically trashed it showing its worst presets. i have some real synths, so im not sure if i should bother with the synths in the 560. right now where i live the px-s3000 is cheaper than the px-560 by about 800$!

Once again thank you for this great review. Casio should really praise you for this. I would like to buy a PX-560 if I find a suitable triple pedal set with half damping, and I am not interesting in the furniture stand. Yes I know that you have answered this (only the furniture stand can be used for a triple pedal solution with half damping), but the world goes forward, so maybe this pedal exist now in July 2019. I was hoping that the Studiologic SLP3-D 3 could be used.

Great video as usual Chuck, I have a PX560 , (and a CTX-5000 ) does the PX-s 3000 address the old Previa Achilles heel of a rather short initial fall off (as opposed to sustain) of the higher notes which can makes slow legato playing difficult ? I had this problem with both a PX 330 & my current PX 560, although the cheaper CTX 5000 when midi from 560 via a Kenton to host )Seems a lot better but sadly only 64 note poly !

Thanks so much for this comparison. I have no idea why you would say they are not comparable. It's obvious that the new PX-S3000 is not top-of-the-line material. If you are playing by yourself in your home/apartment is the noisier key action of the 560 loud enough to be bothersome? How about with headphones?
@creekwoodjoe16072 жыл бұрын
The neighbors below my apartment hear me hitting the keys on the px560M - with headphones! I was told it sounds like tap tap, little rats running across the ceiling below. I am not allowed to play during the hours of 10pm til 8am because of this noise. The tapping is also prevalent if playing softly with no accompaniment, but still it is my favorite digital piano so far.

You've been watching too many James Shawcross videos - the guy who started this - the same guy who played a very difficult classical piece on it and praised the keyboard as one of the finest he's ever played! Of course they're different than an acoustic piano's keys... you can't compare them as they're apples and oranges. What matters is how it plays - especially under classical pianists fingers (such as his own in the beginning) and many rock pianists who use it, such as Tom Breslin from the band Kansas. I highly suggest you try it.
@stradaveriusfiddle2 жыл бұрын
@@PianoManChuck As much as I can see, and believe that the 560 is a very good all around stage keyboard, with a lot to offer for the affordable price, I still can’t get the stigma of having the Casio name on a keyboard. It’s still hard to see it in the same league as a Kurzweil, or Yamaha. If anyone at Casio ever asks for advice, I would tell them to just put the model number as large as they want, on the back of the keyboard, with ‘Privia’ much smaller, and if they insist on having ‘Casio’ on it, only have it on the players side and quite stealthily…(p.s. I appreciate your note on the Shawcross reviews. He’s a very good classically trained player, and though he’s getting better at his reviews he’s still learning about how to sort through the info he presents. With James’ reviews especially, keep the grains of salt handy y’all.

I love piano man chuck but this comparison was so incredibly biased towards the 560. There are a lot of features that are better on the 3000 imo. High resolution midi, the keybed is AMAZING, with the app live gigs are fine on this.
@PianoManChuck5 жыл бұрын
560 has high resolution midi as well, and no apps are needed to make it easier to operate. Its also a real synthesizer (not just sample playback with pre-chosen effects with limited editability) with workstation capability. I think you missed the point of this video, which is 'why' the 560 is still Casio's flagship stage piano model, and not the 3000 which people are mistakenly being led to believe.

Im really torn between these two I hear that theres more options on px 560 but the available sounds and the upgraded quality of all of them on the px s3000 really makes me consider.Can anyone tell me all the features the px 560 has over the px s3000 and is there really that big of a difference across the board between the sounds of these two pianos.Just to make it more clear Im a somewhat intermediate high schooler taking piano and music theory classes for about a month now but my ambitions is to be a entertainer so like perform for my family,my school and at most at weddings.
@PianoManChuck4 жыл бұрын
If you had actually watched this in-depth video, you would not be asking what the differences are.
@matthewgaines104 жыл бұрын
You're really torn because you're more interested in specs than looking at your needs first. If you understand your needs, what you should buy becomes more apparent. Do you need a synthesizer? Are you wanting to play only? Do you want to compose? Will this be your only keyboard? If all you want to do is play the piano with the keyboard and nothing else, save the money and get neither. A PX-S1000 will more than meet your needs. If you want to create and compose first, get neither and focus on a Korg PA 700, Yamaha PSR-SX700, or Casio MZ-X500. If you want an all arounder keyboard, get the PX-560. If you are just interested in playing the piano and other instruments, maybe the PX-S3000 is for you. The PX-560 is a better Piano/Synth/Arranger. If you don't need the synthesizer and you don't need the arranger functions as your comments indicate by omission, you don't need the PX-560. What to buy is easy when you know what is wanted and what is needed. If you don't understand you needs or wants, how can you decide what services those wants and needs best? By your own description (if it's an accurate, complete statement of your desires) a PX-S1000 would be just fine for the use cases you describe. Why are you even looking at the PX-560 or PX-3000 in the first place?
