Once you hit that drum beat at 4:31 I literally teared up! I have been searching for this little keyboard forever! Many, MANY hours spent annoying my parents with a red Casio PT-1, but never knew the brand or model until today. oh, nostalgia!

I found one of these in my grandfather's house after he died. I think it belonged to my uncle at some point. But there's no telling how many years, if not decades it had spent in a dresser without being touched. As simple as it is, I still love it and it felt good to breathe new life into it. I'm 34 btw, just two years older than this thing lol. Getting old sucks.

Had one of these when I was really young back in the 80’s. It was hours of fun. Little did I know that I’d be using much bigger synths as an adult. I appreciate the trip down nostalgia lane.

My sister and I had one of these in 1986 or 1987. To get us through piano lessons until we were able to get a real keyboard. Ours was white with pink and light green buttons. Later on I remembered the rhythm "Rock 1" being the same thing I heard on the Trio song Da Da Da.

Powerful nostalgia. I had one ofthese when I was a wee lad. I liked music so my grandparents got me one 30 years ago. I showed no musical aptitude at the time. I wonder what happened to it? Each one of those sounds, especially the drum machine, takes me back to when I was like 5. Damn!
@ALWTunes
@ALWTunes 2 жыл бұрын
I have the pink one. It's still good for its ability to accurately recreate Da Da Da by Trio. Haha. I remember saving my nickels and dimes as a kid to buy it. It was maybe $35USD at the time. Thanks for the demo.

Man. I like you more all the time. You have good taste. I have a basement full of Casio consumer synths. My wife keeps telling me I'm never going to use all of them an I should get rid of them! Ha! She's insane. They are my goto for my polyphonic needs. Jut run them through the modular or some effects. I have come up with good stuff on the PT-1... sitting on the couch, as you say. Get yourself an SK-1. I'd send you one, but I'm running low. I only have two right now. I always pick them up when I see them at thrift stores, so I can give them away. It's the one with there built in sampler, and it's awesome. And of course the CZ series is wonderful.

I never saw a blue one! I've had at least 4 over the years. It was perfect for rehearsing choral music, thanks to the one-key-play function! I could record notes from the score without worrying about rhythm, then go back through the tune, using one-key-play, and set the timing. Then replay the passage as many times as it took to learn.
@ivanl.8201

I never saw a blue one either. My mom bought me a white one in 1985 when I was 12. That one broke, and I ended up getting another white one and a pink one in my 30's. The pink one still works, but I have no clue where I put the white one. But that blue one looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm just an amateur songwriter, and I keep thinking about making a song that starts with some rich strings and pianos i.e. almost orchestral, and then, 30 seconds in, it "downgrades" into a little PT-1 beat with the flute or a fantasy sound :)

My second keyboard ever in the 80’s. I used to program the step sequencer with repeating alternate notes then up the tempo to the max speed for simulated polyphony. Also just spotted an SK1 on your MPC One vid. That was my third keyboard. Sold em both a few years ago.
