This is wild. I had this EXACT Casio PT-1 in blue when I was a little kid in the 80’s. The image of it and more so the sound bring back so many memories. I never even knew how to play piano, and what you could do with this little toy of a keyboard was extremely limited. But I used to love just fiddling around with it. It was laying around somewhere in my bedroom growing up for years and years. No idea where it ended up. Likely sold for a few bucks at a garage sale. But who knows, it could still be up in my parents’ attic.

I got the Casio PT-1 keyboard for Christmas in Kindergarten. Mine was pastel pink with soft teal and coral accents and I would probably cry if there was a watch themed after it. I spent almost every waking hour trying to figure out (a very basic) Chariots of Fire by ear and was made to take piano lessons after I did. I instantly rebelled against practicing and reading music and never touched an instrument in front of my parents again. 😂 I can't play a lick, but I’d wear the heck out of that watch.

I had the predecessor to this Casio keyboard as kid back in the late 70s early 80s. I think it was the first electronic keyboard Casio ever made. It didn’t even have a piano like keyboard like this, just buttons arranged in a keyboard like formation. It’s claim to fame was that it was used by a German Industrial Rock artist/band on their one hit wonder song that climbed up the charts in the UK and Europe back in the (very!) early 80s. I remember watching the singer with said keyboard in hand performing on Top Of The Pops. I just wish I could remember the model number. I might still have it lying around somewhere, but haven’t used or even laid eyes on it in decades!

OMG. I used to have a g-shock that looked just like this when I was a kid but it was in yellow (it gave me a hell of a rash). Years later, I bought my first CD, Room for Squares. I learned to play like John Mayer learning through tabs (shout out to sympatico! If you know, you know.) I'm going to buy this just for the nostalgia it brings to my actual life. I love you John.
