Finally, a version I can run on Piotr's FX-870P/VX-4 emulator directly! Thanks for making a video on it, I don't usually see people talk about the programs/games for these old programmable calculators, much less those in English.

Thanks for your feedback 😊. There are other machine code games I've seen but this was the only standalone version that can be easily entered. I must have a look at some of the others some time. Let me know if it works in the emulator.

Very cool! Will these games work on a FX-890P?

The VX-4 uses an 8-Bit Hitachi HD61700 CPU, the FX-890P use a 16-bit Intel 80186 compatible CPU so machine code programs are not compatible between these two devices. You would need to look for FX-890P specific machine code games / programs.

The VX-4 has a 191x32 dot matrix display, however, graphics is not possible from BASIC or C language programs. You must use machine code to create graphics from a program. Cosmic Fly is a machine code game but this version included a BASIC program that loads the machine code into memory for execution. This standalone version is simpler to install and can be entered manually if you don't have a cable.

Very similar. I’d love to see a real Space Invaders clone on a pocket computer or calculator but haven’t found one yet
