I agree, it sounded as good as a modern Roland or Kurzweil. Yes, the build is cheaper plastic but about $2000 less. And it's so much easier to move, as it's light. For the money, nothing can beat it. I find it much easier to program than the others, too....

Certainly an under-rated synth. It won't do everything and some of the presets are decidedly cheesy, but you can say that about almost any keyboard.

For all you Casio Haters out there who are saying Casio keyboards sucks. You people need to shut up. Casio is stepping their game up with these synths and I can't wait for Casio to Make a Killer Workstation that will blow korg, Yamaha, and Roland workstations off the face of the earth !!!! I bought a Roland VR-09 Combo Organ (Keyboard) because I could not afford the Hammond SK-1 76 note keyboard. What sold me on the Roland VR-09, was the D-Beam as no one has it. It has great on organ, but I hate that it only has 61 notes. I wished that I would had bought this Casio XW-P1, as it cost much less. I was very impressed with the arpeggiator as my Roland VR-09 does not have an arpeggiator. I also bought a Yamaha MODX8, because it weighs so much less than my old Yamaha P-200 stage digital piano. It is awesome, as I mostly bought for the grand piano sampling was great, and very light weight, I have much to learn about my new Yamaha MODX8.

My first 'real' synth I bought new (without the onboard speakers) was the CZ-1000. I still have it in storage and in the original box with manual. best synth for the price I ever heard of. It even has orchestral sounds à la Korg. Its like the other manufacturers are cheating on us, with their overpriced products. Hi, William. Great question! In essence, both of these keyboards are pretty similar, but the XW-G1 had a sample looper and the sounds were a bit more focused to electronic sounds instead of having a larger variety of presets with other instruments like the XW-P1. Mine sounds awful out of the box so I’ve no idea how yours sounds so good and the operating system is so complex (for me at least) it’s in the corner gathering dust but it’s good as a midis controller for my iOS. The presets could have been awesome like those you have programmed and this synth would have been epic rather than an overly complex also-ran. I know the sounds are in there but they are beyond my understanding ☹️☹️

Just bought the xw-p1 and need help hooking it up to a sound system...what do I need to to? Do I need an amp or can I just hook it into my home stereo? Please help anyone...
@HotStrange8 жыл бұрын
You'll need a bass or keyboard amp. With an input cable. A home stereo couldn't handle that much power of you could even find a way to route the keyboard to it..
@alenk7388 жыл бұрын
Strange. Mine is hooked up to a home stereo system with only thirty watts a side. It has been functioning just fine for over two years. You have to watch trying to pass high frequency sine waves at high volume through the speakers, which could fry the tweeters. But otherwise no special precautions.
@OJ84916 жыл бұрын
I also have my XW-P1 connected to a domestic Hi-Fi. using an "AUX" input socket and it's fine. Two 1/4 jack to RCA Phono cable is all you need.

@alenk7386 жыл бұрын
He might not own one given that he didn't answer. But I do. No one can make that kind of call, "better than this or that manufacturer's products" because it's not specific enough. But the XW-P1 can be made to sound pretty decent if you're willing to do some programming. The presets for the most part aren't all the great.
@AlfredoZauberer5 жыл бұрын
No Sound is not better but near by and you can save around 2000$! And there is a free Midi Controller App for ipad for free and with that you can control all parameters...that App in combination makes this Keyboard Awesome!
