I’ve had this piano since I was 17 or 18 and I am 29 now. Still plays beautifully. It been through two states and countless moves. Love this piano!

I bought one a year ago on Craiglist used for like $300. I could theoretically upgrade now but it would mean paying thousands of dollars for a piano that's only 10% better.

I have a friend who is an incredible pianist but he does not have money. His talent has been recognized by a local couple with lots of money. They offered to buy him any electronic piano he would like. He could have purchased something far more expensive but he got this Privea because he says it sounds great, it feels great, and it doesn't weigh much.
@kjun1312 жыл бұрын
I bought one of these as I was just beginning to play piano for about $600 brand new. I got a foot pedal and mounted to the wall in my bedroom, I've always loved playing it. A year later I can play seven complex medleys, worth every single penny but I will be upgrading to a Kawai CN33 soon.

Key replacement on Casio Privia PX-555R accomplished. Difficult. If interested, suggested procedure: 1. Turn keyboard upside down, so that bottom faces up. Photo &/or diagram for memory reference. Photo sides and top if desired. 2. 7 rows of screw fasteners, about 50 screws in all. Note metal bar. 3. Sugg'n: label cups 1 - 7 each separate row. Place removed Phillips screws in cups. 4. Kbd chassis snaps apart slowly. Careful with electronics. 5. Keys carefully pry hinge fulcrum. Replace.

@Virtuon777 No post-processing was done. Actually because our video camera only had inputs for the wireless mic I was using - we had to record the piano separately to a computer. A TC Electronic Konnekt 24D was used. Later we synced the audio that we recorded with the video.
@mxh9113 жыл бұрын
@KingOfShadows1500 And that was my point. In this video, the sound was not from the keyboard. It was CHANGED with an audio interface. What part of that didn't you understand?

@IXIBankaiIXI13 жыл бұрын
@mxh91 Because if you look in the video, you see a cable coming from the left side of the PX-130. That is where the headphones jack is, so he probably connected an amp or some kind of speaker to it to make it louder. Also, he could have used a different program to record the sound so it isn't hindered by the recording of the video, and then sync'd the sound with the video so the sound quality remains. The amp is more likely though since you can see the cable haha.

@AwesomeMan2696 You can connect a PX-130 to a sound system. It has an 1/8th inch stereo headphone jack like an iPod or MP3 player. The next model in the series, the PX-330 has 1/4" audio outputs which may be more convenient to connect to a sound system.

It's just so cool. My friend and I just listened to song #49 my favorite and 01-23. So fun!
@JapViking14 жыл бұрын
I would go with the 130 because it has a new and improved keyboard and grand piano sound. I believe the felt they put on the new models stop that clicking noise too? the 130 only has 16 tones and the 320 has like 200, but all those sounds arnt necessary to me. all i care about is a good feel and nice piano sound.
@PSXfiles14 жыл бұрын
I'd like to know too. Sounds gorgeous with the strings.

@ThisIsDream Yes, just plug it into your computer using USB, no drivers are needed. You'll need some type of MIDI recording software.

@mxh91 you're right, here. I bought the PX-130 based on this video and while I've been happy with it for its price, it doesn't sound as good as in this video. Still, for around 500 bucks, it's not a bad buy for someone who's starting to get serious about piano. (I started on a Casio LK-40 ^o^)

@IXIBankaiIXI It was recorded directly to a computer from the headphone out to a TC Electronic Konnekt 24D audio interface. No processing was done.

maybe he's using them to line out to the audio for this video....it doesn't sound like it's just miked off the room....sounds too clean. The PX330 has seperate line-outs but with the 130 you'd have to use the headphone jacks btw.

@MrJackanthony i would recommend you getting a casio privia than yamaha or roland considering its price range. honestly i am a casio hater because they have this reputation of kiddie orriented keyboard but after watching this vid, i am really astonished how casio produced excellent piano sound. but of course i would still get a roland if budget is not a deal.

@Zormo777 Its useful because then the two people can play in the same octaves.

Hi Mike I have another Question. Is there a list somewhere of the factory registration banks? Like; Bank 3 #1 Wam Pop with sax sound.
@dayglo9814 жыл бұрын
@electrodude9 the sound is amplified since you can see the microphone plugs being hooked to whatever..But I did try one at BestBuy today and it sounded really great by itself
@KingOfShadows150013 жыл бұрын
@mxh91 why? you can use either a microphone or a USB/XLR/MIDI/line out-line in cable to record a keyboard and i don't see anything wrong with the 1st option! either way, i don't know what that guy in the video used and i have no idea what mxh91 used, but it's obviously not the same thing! otherwise, it would sound the same! so the dude does not really have a reason for thinking this ad is tricked, since it worked for so many other people! the one he bought is probably defective or something.....

@KingOfShadows1500 He uses an audio interface to achieve the clear sound. Why did you even say microphone in your first post?
@mxh9113 жыл бұрын
@KingOfShadows1500 You are changing the subject. I never said anything about auto-tuning anything. So now you want to talk about reverb? Casio PX-130 has 4 built-in reverbs. Using an external hardware to manipulate the digital piano's true sound/effect is still considered changing the overall quality of the piano sound itself. What more do you want to argue about? You have change nothing by replying back.

@KingOfShadows1500 You said it yourself buddy. I'll quote. "will sound different! it's not the keyboard itself!" Are you saying that the sound is not the native sound?
@cinem8ic14 жыл бұрын
The 130 is SO much better than the 110. I have the 130 at home and the 110 in the studio and the 110 keys are louder and have a much sloppier feel to them. I am only missing a dedicated transpose button (you can transpose up/down via key command), but then again...maybe I should just learn to play.

Well this time let's hope they fixed the noisy keys issue most Privia owners are plagued by, They lost tons of customers to Roland and Yamaha because they failed to address this design flaw.
@mxh9113 жыл бұрын
@KingOfShadows1500 The fact that you said it will sound different and that it's not from the keyboard itself makes the sound artificial. What are you trying to prove there?
