Love this keyboard. I used to play a Farfisa Compact Professional in my band, but for smaller venues and ease of portability, I would swap it for the Casio for a lot of gigs. Great sound.

Love those old Casiotones! The drums/ accompaniment are fully analogue too. IIRC, the 701 model uses a form of sine wave synthesis, whereas most of the early 80's Casiotones used Consonant Vowel. Lovely retro/ spacey sounding track btw!

No idea CASIO used to had Keyboards with wood panels back in the day...
@EgoShredder5 жыл бұрын
The large keyboards we had at school in the 1970s and 80s were like this. I also have a friend whose grandfather had one at home, big sized model and like a piece of furniture. They had a certain charm and warmth to them.
@stefan10245 жыл бұрын
It's fake wood though, and it gets sort of sticky over the years. While the drums and sound effects are analog, the normal keyboard sounds are pure digital. I had one of those, but sold it. It surely has it's charme, but at the end of the day you can get such sounds out of a lot of keyboards and home organs.
@t55a25 жыл бұрын
@@stefan1024 Are you sure? It has trimmers inside.
@t55a25 жыл бұрын
@@stefan1024 True about home keyboards/organs though. You see lots of organs going cheap but they take up so much space. Single keybed ones are good but rarely see them.
@stefan10245 жыл бұрын
@@t55a2 I'm quite sure. You can hear it when you play on one of those. I have several analog preset keyboards from the late 70s to mid 80s (Hohner, Yamaha, JVC, several organs desperately trying to be synths) and it's a different sound. The Casio sounds nice though, and remember that digital was a good thing back then. :) Also drums, comping and those two spacy disco effects seem to be pure analog, the trimmers might be for those.

God that thing sounds absolutely incredible..... Is it so much to ask that a company do a modern take on a keyboard that looks and functions like this??
