Casper/bastl Dark Matter // demo jam #2

Another demo jam for the casper electronics / bastl instruments dark matter.
Patch notes:
The MN 0-coast is the main sound source, used for bass / kick / everything in between.
Through the 4ms dual looping delay, mainly as a looper.
The "snare" is from bastl's noise^2 through the skis and into the treble input. Yes, it's not mixed in but modulates the dark matter at audio rate instead!!!
The square out from the noise^2 is sometimes used to modulate other inputs on the dark matter.
The output from the dark matter goes to an external mixer, with slightly boosted lows and highs. Everything you hear is the x-fader out from the dark matter!
The dark matter's feedback loop is sometimes patched through the befaco rampage that is used as a bit crusher (to 1 bit).
Pioneer rmx500 on the master for some effects here and there.
Everything is sequenced by the MN tempi and shakmat modular knight's gallop.

Thanks! The make noise tempi is the main clock for the system. It feeds the shakmat's knight's gallop which is a euclidean clock sequencer. The rest is locking bits of audio in the 4ms dual looping delay.

Thanks! You're more than welcome to ask :-) I made these. One of the advantages of having access to a laser cutter. The art is from Shintaro Kago. I would say one of the main advantages of beautiful blanks is that you want to keep them in the case so less inclined to buy unnecessary modules haha

Thanks @Romanowitch! Do you mean the "ratcheting" of the kick that starts at 2:45? It works like this: The end of attack on the envelope that goes to the kick VCA goes to blinds, the mixer / VCA on the top left corner of the rack, to channel. The mix of the first 2 channels goes to the trigger input of the envelope of the kick pitch. So, when there's nothing on the 2nd channel of the mixer, on every trigger to the kick's VCA there's also a trigger to the kick's pitch slope. Now, at 2:45 I unmute a channel on tempi that periodically open the VCA on the 2nd channel on blinds. The input to this VCA is 16th triggers. The result is that every once in a while, in addition to the usual trigger on every kick, there will be extra triggers for the pitch envelope. Hope it makes sense. If not, just tell and I will add another video specifically about this :-)

Thanks! No dedicated pitch / CV sequencer. The tempi and the knight's gallop are trigger / gate sequencers and patterns are often "locked" into loops by the dual looping delay (upper right corner). So pitch and other parameters are manually moved and to create melodies and so on and then looped. The feedback is after the looper, so a loop can be further manipulated / modulated. Is that clear? I can explain in more details if needed :-)

@@julesfradet2899 Let's see if I can decipher this patch. It was a while ago haha. The blinds VCA mixes 2 channels of gates. One is from the knight's gallop, and the other is 16th notes gated by the rise time of the rampage. The rampage is triggered by one of the channels of the tempi (channel 3), so on every trigger it opens for a while, which opens the VCA on the 16th notes, which are mixed with the knight's gallop triggers. Does this make sense?
