First of all... Welcome back! Now, to get to what I just listened to you play. I finally ventured into this really high end guitar shop i've been wanting to visit here in my neck of th woods. Played my first Maton. An EBG808TEC Tommy Emmanuel Signature model. Then a Cole Clark Angel 2EC with a Bunya Top, and Tasmanian Blackwood Back and Sides. Then I played this McPherson MG-4 OXP with a solid redwood top, indian rosewood back and sides, and an offset sound hole. I was in Heaven! They were all asthetically beautiful! The tones from each were incredible! The Mcpherson sang with a clarity and tone that took me to places I haven't been. It justifies why we play. And why we listen to every note, every chord, every riff. They were all 3 different in their own way, yet all 3 spoke the same language. Which brings me back to you and this new song of yours. The simplicity of it's beauty is so elegantly understated. Something real. Something from your heart. For me, music is a journey where there is no final destination. Just many beautiful stops along the way. Since I've been listening to you play guitar, it's been an incredible journey. And I wouldn't trade it for the world. Thanks again for sharing your awesome talent!!

@@CasperEsmann I can only contemplate your emotional state when you wrote this beautiful song but somehow I feel I know. I wrote a song about a very close friend of mine... "The Twilight Years". And I road that roller coaster for a while. Every time I lestened to it, it would bring tears to my eyes, but i'm so glad I wrote it. Music is a release for me. Sometimes the best music we write comes from our own experiences. The heart, the mind, the emotions... It's real life stuff! It takes an exceptional person to dig down deep and create a beautiful song like yours and then share it with us. In some respects... you will never be truely alone because, you live in us. You live in our hearts. That's just my opinion. That's just me... looking in from the outside. You truly have a gift!

Thanks man! The way I record is simple and is not the reason why the sound is great. The guitar is, the guitars I play are called Kepma and they feel and sound amazing. I just use a standard Aston Origin mic when I record and a direct signal from the guitar as well. I don’t do much EQ or editing - I’m just adding a bit of compressor and reverb that’s it. Remember that 90% of your sound comes from the guitar and hands, not the recording gear, always remember that.
