No joke. Brent's voice just took too much of a beating over the years, which is understandable.
@gingerdoll8 жыл бұрын
John Jackson Totally agree. He has so much talent, it's really unbelievable. He just pushed himself too hard, and blew his voice out. But honestly, there's really no one else with pipes like this. Brett Scallions (Fuel) came pretty close at one time though.

This is the best version of 45, in my humble opinion. He sang this with such emotion and it just dwarfs any other version of this song I've ever heard. He should sing this song, just like this, every time he sings it. One of the best performances I have ever seen, and I have seen countless performances by countless artists. This is excellent. Just excellent.

Jasin lived with us after his split with shinedown. I had the pleasure of playing with him and singing this very song with him. Hes a good guitar player GREAT guy. Our band had a gig, we had just lost our bass player, jasin stepped up, learned our tunes on bass and played with us at the dive bar we played, he played like he was on tour in front of 10k. Theres actually a song on youtube, some one recorded the gig.

I totally agree with you. I just recently saw them and he came out and sang to the people on the hill. He also came out with Zack to the middle of the crowd and did an acoustic cover of Simple Man. I remember seeing this way back, probably around 2006 tbh. Prolly posted on a different channel or something. It was unreal back then. Everyone was like "man these guys are gonna be huge". They did get pretty big, but at some point they stopped using his voice like that. I think they went more mainstream or something and now he's just kind of another singer...they do well and are popular and still on the radio but man they don't make stuff that sounds like that anymore.
@zkline4197 жыл бұрын
I was a kid in highschool back in 07'. I remember these guys playing on every radio station. They did a few of these private shows as contest prizes. I tried like hell to win one. Even bought a second cell phone. I'm glad you uploaded these. 45 is the reason I picked up a guitar, and almost 15yrs later I'm still jamming. Always the first song I play at open mic nights.

@lascivious9514 жыл бұрын
As with many songs, the meanings become personal to who hears them. This song is so very special to me in so many ways. I would like to tell my story. In 1999, my wife and I lost the lives of our twin daughters that right from the beginning, I said I didn't want them. I've regretted it since. From the first lyrics to the last, this song serves as my sentence. Sometimes your songs have more meaning then what you intended.
