Correction; while it was published by Blast, it was actually made by Data Design Interactive, the same infamous UK developers that made the dreadful Ninjabread Man game which got cloned 3 times on the PS2 and Wii as Rock n Roll Adventures, Anubus II, and Myth Makers: Trixie in Toyland. And as soon as I couldn't get past the first levels on both, I had them both sent back for a refund. To say that these were the worst games I played on PS2 would be an understatement of a life time. fun fact - in the original casper movie, Casper tries to literally kill himself because he can't make friends, before realizing he's already dead. Then, when he finally does, their mom won't let them be friends until Casper scares away a banker coming for a mortgage payment. So basically, Casper's mom is a tax evader.

Ok, what this fool is _TRYING_ to say (in the _worst_ way they could possibly phrase it) is that in the debut Casper cartoon short from the '40s, Casper spends the whole short trying to make friends, but everybody screams & runs away from him, so he decides to lay himself on the railway tracks to kill himself, but being a ghost, the train just goes right through him. Realizing it didn't work, Casper just cries where he sits, but a little boy & girl walk up to him, unafraid, & introduce themselves as Bonnie & Johnny & ask Casper if he wants to play with them. He excitedly accepts & plays with them, after which they bring him back to their house & try to introduce him to their mother. She has the same reaction as everyone else in the short did, up to Bonnie & Johnny, & screams at him to leave. He sadly begins to walk away when the taxman barges through the door &, assuming he's a child of the house, tells him to tell his mother that the mortgage is being forclosed on. He quickly realizes that Casper is a ghost & declares the house is haunted, so he tears up the mortgage contract & runs screaming out the door. Casper continues to walk out, crying, but the mother walks over to him, smiling, & picks him up & hugs him. The short ends with Bonnie, Johnny, & Casper, now dressed in children's clothes, being waved goodbye by their mother as they walk to school. The original commenter is correct in that the mother didn't take Casper in until after she'd seen the taxman get spooked by him, so that was rather selfish & fair-weather of her.

So I learned that Casper's last name was McFadden. For some reason it just made me chuckle thinking that Casper is Scottish. As for what spooky game you guys should play next, my vote is for Curse of the Flying Dutchman. The entire game in itself is frustrating and weird, but I have a lot of nostalgia for it as I played through it multiple times as a kid. It also came out only 13 months before Battle for Bikini Bottom.

Dear god I remember playing this game while younger; in fact, this is actually a reskin of Ninjabread Man for the PS2/PC/Wii, which itself was not only a reskin of a scrapped Zool tech demo, but also served as the basis for three other reskins (Anubis II, Myth Makers: Trixie in Toyland, and Rock and Roll Adventures); thank god most of the PS2 shovelware library is European-exclusive (unfortunately, many of these games were ported to the Wii, and released in North America). Anyway, SpongeBob Revenge of the Flying Dutchman gets my vote, but avoid the PS2 version as it has issues with later PS2 revisions (i.e. ones released at the time of the game's release) that could crash the game on loading screens (and corrupt your save if you're REALLY unlucky).
