Ben, the film John Travolta was in was called "Phenomenon". It ended up his character had an inoperable brain tumor. Yes, it was a tumor. (Think Kindergarten Cop) The tumor was putting pressure on some part of his brain that allowed abilities to become available to him. I want to say his friend in the film was Forest Whittaker, but I can't recall for sure.

Ben, without taking a much closer look (just assessing off the photo you provided), the chopsticks would have remained in the left hemisphere, just under the prefrontal cortex and possibly tapping the left ventral parietal lobe - meaning that it mostly would have impacted memory, personality, object recognition, or sensory response. There are a number of other subcortical regions the sticks could of hit in the process. I would say it probably would not result in super powers, but I am certain there will be some study-worthy outcomes from it. Cheers.

Last one. Mr. Ballen did a video on a story similar to this where a lady had a bullet stuck in her brain and didnt even know it till her headaches got worse and worse
@BostonAmy10 ай бұрын
I just mentioned Mr. Ballen too. Remember the story about the guy with a cough he couldn't get rid of and when they took an X-ray it was a small tree in his lungs? He cut down trees for a living and apparently inhaled a pine tree seed, which kept growing in his lungs. Not as violent as the chopsticks but still fascinating. I love Ballen's "Truth is stranger than fiction" stories.

As a doorman/CP of 15 years, I have seen a lot of gruesome stuff: popped eyes, a lot of blood, and broken bones. But watching this honestly made me a bit queasy. Whoever pushed a chopstick into someone's nose through their brain must be a psychopath. And how did they do it? The poor guy must have been knocked out first, as there's no way to do it mid-fight. Awesome video, Ben - love the content. ✌🏼

As someone who has lived and trained in Shotokan Karate in Japan. I was once told that chopsticks were originally used to eat in the 11th century. At the same time they were immediately used as weapons. In the days of the samurai's it was forbidden to take any weapon or sword/katana into any area that was used for eating. Only thing allowed was eating implements. That's when chopsticks were first used as a weapon. They were also used to get fish pieces from a hot cooking pot.

The sickest part of that Hannibal Lecter scene is he also started feeding the guy his own brains as he was cutting it out and frying it up to eat. And then at the end, and i can't remember if it was an alternate deleted scene or not but when hes escaped and in the plane he has more of the brains in his own meal he packed and he feeds some of the brains to the little boy sitting next to him and the boy really likes it.

TS 6:00 - While the nose and nasal cavity have pain receptors, the brain does not. Headaches are felt from the inside of the skull, which does have pain receptors but not the brain. In a fast-paced fight, which they usually are, I can see myself grabbing anything to protect myself from harm or possible death. I wouldn't know which one. Fight or flight. If you can't take flight, then you have to fight. You're not paying attention to your own physical pain, in a fight, either; adrenalin. All that you are concerned with is causing as much pain as possible to your attacker, to get them off of you. I don't feel sorry for any attacker who receives damage during their assault. My first reaction when you started telling us this story, is that 'yeah. I'd take those chop sticks and shove them right into his eyes.' The nose was not the target. Anything was the target, and the face is the perfect place to cause pain to someone attacking you. Me? I'm a gamer. Targeting is part of my game. I would have the reflex to think of targeting and hit those eyes for sure, and I don't need a keyboard for that. He wouldn't be expecting it: "He laughs and thinks, what's he gonna do to me with chopsticks?" ... that is, IF he saw me pick them up. I'd love to hit like and subscribe, Ben, but I can't, because I already did, and I already have. Cheers!

Just started your video and heard “chopsticks.” I vocally went, “Ahhh,” cause I knew what damage they can do. If I was worried for my life I absolutely would go for chop sticks or even a pen. Any pointy object can do some serious damage when there is nothing else. Hell even a spoon can be a highly effective weapon when welded with knowledge, experience, and force. Cheers
