@FPL12364Ай бұрын
Supporting Israel really doesn’t make sense when you look at its foundation. Israel is basically the result of Zionist settler-colonialism, and that’s not just my opinion-it’s right there in their early writings. If you take a look at the literature from the time, they were already talking about colonialism as a tool to take over Palestinian land. Zionists even admitted that the Palestinians wouldn’t just step aside without resistance. They used classic colonialist language to describe the local population, calling them "uncivilized" or treating them as less human-something that still happens today. Let’s not forget that the Jewish population in Palestine was around 20,000 in the early 1900s and to 1920's it doubled, and then suddenly it skyrocketed. That wasn’t by chance. It was part of a deliberate effort by Zionists to create a Jewish state on land where people were already living. Yes, the Jewish community has faced horrible persecution and absolutely needed protection, but that doesn’t justify building a country on someone else’s land and forcing people out of their homes. How would you feel if someone showed up, claimed your house as their own, and told you to leave because of their religious connection to the land? Zionists even considered other places like Argentina and Uganda to establish their state, but Palestine was chosen because of its religious significance to Jewish people. It wasn’t just about creating a safe space; it was about drawing on that religious symbolism to rally support for the cause. But that land is also significant to Muslims and Christians. So why should one group have more right to it than the others? The idea that any religion gives someone a right to a specific territory is just outdated and frankly dangerous. It’s not about religion at all-it’s about colonization and occupation, and the denial of rights to Palestinians. If you take the time to read Zionist literature, you’ll see that what’s happening is far from self-defense. It’s about expanding a settler-colonial project that displaces and oppresses Palestinians. Their end goal in reality is to take over all of palestine, parts of Lebanon and Syria. We see it every day, they even use the same tactics of using humans as shields when bombing Lebanon while the Israeli themselves are using human shields maybe even at a higher rate. Every day we see more and more atrocities, kids killed, tortures, rapes and how they laugh and giggle as they destroy buildings raid homes and build new ones especially in the west bank while killing and forcing out palestinian elders, man, women and children. Do better - learn more - do not fall into the zionsit propaganda trap that they are the victims, they colonised the land and the indegionous population is fighting it for 100 years - not since 1948 - 1948 was just the result of it.

They literally installed former Nazis as technocrats and completely failed at denazification. There was no success in the program, because obviously, the only way to redevelop the country was to get the people who actually live there to participate in its redevelopment. And in this conflict they have lost control of northern Israel proper which had never been threatened in the entirety of Israeli history. Even the current occupation of Gaza is incumbent on them successfully degrading Hezbollah's capacity to threaten the north. Judging by the latest attack on Haifa barracks and their slow progress in southern Lebanon, it does not inspire confidence in Israel's chances of victory. If they took 1 year to defeat Hamas they will probably take 3-4 years to reach the Litany assuming Iran does not help out Hezbollah. Israel does not have 3 years.

I think it's easy to throw words around without thinking deeply. what would any other occupied people do if they were in an open air prison like Gaza? Just ask a few American's what they would be willing to do if the government wanted to take away their guns. What would you do if you were under occupation and the occupiers kept taking more and more of you land and killing you people. Before the first week of October, at least 199 Palestinians had been killed in the West Bank in 2023. The illegal colonial settlers were beating and stealing Palestinian land like never before. What do you think injustice breeds? Nobody is supporting violence or attacks against civilians but what the zionist entity has done and continues to do is dig its own grave. Do you know the people speaking out loudest against Israel are young western Jewish kids. Do you know how much the zionist state had invested in trying to control the narrative and seeing it being undone in a catastrophic manner they will be sh1tt1ing their pants knowing their days will be numbered. The world has seen their genocidal land grab and their true colours. You are right that day in october wasn't very good (because of the civilian loss of life, of which many were inflicted by their own army) but why not look at the rest of the months and days of 2023 and the many many years prior? This argument oversimplifies history. The concept of a modern "nation-state" didn't exist for most of the timeline listed, so it's misleading to judge Palestinian statehood by ancient empires' presence. Local identity and self-determination matter; just because there wasn't a formal "Palestinian state" doesn't mean there weren’t people with ties to the land. Modern international law recognizes the right to self-determination, which supports Palestinian statehood regardless of past empires. Using history selectively to deny this right ignores the region's complex past and the principles of justice today.

@@abupinhusYes! Give Gaza back to Egypt, which used to hold the strip. This absolutely makes the most sense, and sadly seems the least likely to occur. Egypt doesn't want them and doesn't want to be responsible for securing the place, so it can't be a base of attacks on Israel. International forces overseeing Gaza, maybe? That failed up north in Lebanon... but maybe something was done wrong there that could be corrected. Lamentably, the sh't work of policing a land of terrorists will fall to Israel & then Gazans will actually have the "oppression" they claim. A self-fulfilling prophecy, as they say.

I just read the '74 treaty, everything listed is purely between the 2 countries while there is only 1 extremely vague mention of both parties are to try to adhere to the treaty conditions regardless of external mechanics. Technically, Israel didn't break the treaty as there are more than enough evidence to validate that weapons and tunnels were indeed brought/linked to/fro Egypt (Cause and effect) And as always, the buffer zone is purely for deterrence/outlook (between either nations) for a possible invasion which Israel should have clearly indicated and demonstrated they only have the intent to secure it as to prevent transport of ANY weapons/terrorists coming in gaza to aid or escape to Egypt.
@AnthonyZevАй бұрын
The only solution I see for some form of sustainable and peaceful coexistence is for third-party countries to take control of the security of the strip. I.e a coalition of UAE, Qatari and Saudi troops with direct US, Israeli and Egyptian support. And for the development, reconstruction and reeducation of the strip, a fund should be created with funds from Saudi, Qatar, UAE, USA, Israel and the EU.
