@@-_Spiral_- I think it's the same whistle Artie Barkley ran Shay 5 with in the 1980s. If you look up old clips on KZbin, the sound is virtually identical (it may sound a little different here considering Shay 11 has a higher boiler pressure due to its larger size).

Always love Cass. So beautifully all the trains and the whole area. One of the best steam trains. Wish I lived closer, would be there a lot. Really like to watch the working of SHAY TRAIN. Everyone should get the chance to ride the trains at CASS. 💯💯

I was just at Cass a few weeks ago during my mountain bike trip at Snowshoe. You can hear those stunning whistles echoing through the mountains all the way in snowshoe.

I am headed out there this morning when I get off work. Nothing like a Steam Train Trip on the CSRR in the fall. It's always beautiful. For those going this weekend, and next weekend be sure to take warm clothes and rain gear, as it's calling for rain both weekends. I'm sure this video will be beautiful.
