Cassandra Clare is such an inspiration to me! It made me kind of emotional when she spoke about The Infernal Devices (my all time favourite series) ... Will, Jem and Tessa will forever be in my heart.

so, cassie telling about how she got an idea about the infernal devices is so magical because i received my tenth aniversary edition of clockwork angel just hours ago and it said the same thing in a new author's note she had. but its kinda more better to hear her say the same, to remind me that she indeed exists and created people i cant imagine my life without.

I love her books. I love them. But I was slightly disappointed when she was mean towards the actors. And saidcAlec raped Magnus. I was so so so sad. It was just not fair.

@@larajeansong6634 she mentioned on tweeter that Alec raped magnus in their first time. The tweet received a not so nice feedbacks. She later said it was not well-thought. Again another time she said "if I had the experience that i have today I would be a lot more a part of writing the script", implying she didn't like the show.

She was right to criticise the actors and the show runners. The show was terrible, the writers were disrespectful to Cassie and her work, there was a scene where it seemed like Alec was forcing Magnus into sex which even fans of the show said made them feel uncomfortable.

If her style of rhetoric were more logical and driven by sharp intelligence, then her writing and style of communication would not suffer as it did throughout the Shadowhunter Chronicles and all of her subsequent novels after. Overall, her writing sucks because her perception of human nature is somewhat compromised by a lack of insight and an incomplete and malformed set of preconceived notions of what is important for us as a species.

She writes books for 12 to 18 year olds lol teenagers! Teenagers are not interested in rhetoric or books written with logic and "sharp intelligence" lol. Imagine a book written for teens written in the style of voice you wrote your comment in, it would be horrendous. Funny you critique her for not having a perception of human nature and insight, yet you don't understand teenagers respond to books and styles of writing that are more emotionally driven, not intellectually. You want an intellectual book, go read an adult series.

Brandon Bellino agree. Though I am 21 and still love her books. This guy/girl who wrote the comment probably gave up during the mortal instruments because it was very childish but her later books for example infernal devices are alot wiser and the dark atrificies as they are highly political and dwell on the idea of the Cold Peace and a similiar situation of the Cold Peace of World War ll. This person does not understan that there are diffrent kinds of intelligence and one of them is emotinal and pshycological intelligence wich is a high theme of the books, also her books are a metaphor of our worl and are heavily focused on the idea of good and evil and what makes someone that, and they are a lot of morally grey characters especially in the newer books wich is very true to how people are in the real world. Also she is better than any other YA author because she challenges our vocabluary wich I respect since I am from Croatia I always love learning more ways to say something. She has a lot to say and she is one of the best writers I have ever read. The thing is as you said her books are targeted towards the YA audience so therefore I can’t wait for her to write someting targeted towards adults.

The Hummingbird girl read a classic then. You can not say someones writing sucks, you can say it is not for you. Because that is something really personal and subjective therefore you trying to sound like an elocvent and intelligent adult isn’t working because you don’t understand that 1) her books are targeted towards the YA audience 2) you do not understand the meaning between something that is subjective and objective and thinking of your opinion as superior to all the hundreds of people who love her books is a rather childish aproach. I can’t stand people like you. Behaving like this elitist whose opinion only matters and portrays it like it’s fact. Get over yourself and read a classic.
