That was fantastic.Thanks for showing us your awesome engine Michael. I do remember the Silver Lady run across Scotland it passed not far from the end of our street.The whole town turned out to see it. I can still see all the Haggis chasing after it like tribes of Apaches in a western movie. Ah such memories🤣

Very nice. Ive looked, but haven't managed to see the full program of the journey across Scotland. I know Jack Strawbridge was the main host, who's a real character and has done a number of other shows. I am linked on Instagram with a guy who was involved in the mission. In fact, he might own the staring engine 🤔

Great video Terry. The Silver Lady has sprung axles, sight glass, and water top off system. The Lady Anne is great but, having sprung axles is a big upgrade. I've only owned fixed frame RH engines. Anyhow it runs great. Any details on the two Mamod Brunnel sin the background?
@Terrys-Steam-and-Bricks9 ай бұрын
Hi Steven! That Silver Lady really is a great engine. I do really like the sprung axels. My engines with sprung axels run well on uneven track. The springs add a lot to all-wheel adhesion.

The Brunels are in the previous video. 😊

How expensive are live steam engines Terry?
@Terrys-Steam-and-Bricks9 ай бұрын
A lot. Lol. They are made by hand of course. 1500-3000 for a good one. Some beginner engines at around 800-1000.
@gasmith8419 ай бұрын
For a first live steamer I, and many others, would recommend an engine from Roundhouse's 'Basic' series. Relatively affordable, reliable, they last for ever, and plenty of options to customize to make it unique for you
@Terrys-Steam-and-Bricks9 ай бұрын
@@gasmith841 indeed. I have a Bertie in 32 mm gauge and absolutely love it! I have “better” engines, but my Bertie always runs very well and never fails to make me smile.
