Really cool. Especially for those of us that grew up with cassette tape in the 70's and 80's. Thanks for the memories.

I was a home cassette fanatic from 1978 to 1988. I only had about 150 prerecorded cassettes and about 1,400 home dubbed tapes on those cheap grey TDK cassettes. I remember when I moved it took 7 large garbage bags to haul them. Cassettes were great.
@ldchappell18 жыл бұрын
***** Not really. They were great back in the day. It was a cheap way to cram a lot of music onto a single tape. Now with MP3s and flash drives you can put your entire music collection onto a single DVD or USB flash drive.
@ldchappell18 жыл бұрын
***** I love mp3s because they're permanent. As long as you keep the bit-rate the same you can copy it forever. I also love not having to lug cassettes around.

ldchappell1 True but i would’ve kept like 50 tapes and sell the rest since people want blanks now and the demand is getting higher while supply is short

Hey KRAZZEIZATION : did you notice at 1:54 the pre-recorded tape = CrO2 with 120μs instead of 70μs 1st time i see that I think this cassette fits in decks with manual tape type & eq select : In auto tape select it might sound dull ?

1:50 TDK metal tape, w/ a metal housing. I have two of those, and the music on them still sounds GREAT, even after 35 yrs. Recorded onto them w/ an Onkyo TA2080 deck.

I had so many of these cassette types. Some (especially the earliest ones) sounded and functioned like crap) but the as technology of the players and the cassettes improved, they got real good. Very nice montage!

That takes me back. Tape is still the shit. Analog tape has a warm and alive sound that you just can't get with digital recording.

Fantastic, and it goes to prove to all those 1990s born hipsters who says the cassette is 1990s nostalgia (and they should know because they were born in 1999) Tapes were just as big (if not bigger, when CDs weren't around and video games came on them) in the 1980s and were also around in the 1970s, tapes started to *fall out of favour* in the 1990s.

I used to have a some boomboxes that you could plug into a timer and I would set them to listen to a Christian talk show that came on while I was a work. Now all the sets seem to have a relay or whatever that cuts the radio off when it is not getting juice. I bought 120 minute tapes (I still have three that were never opened) and that way I could listen to the whole one hour show when I came home from work. I occasionally still record radio shows but have to be there to turn the radio on. I still buy pre-recorded tapes in the thrift stores. I think they will be with us for a long time. Recording to those chips if fine but they are so easy to lose. You can slip a cassette in your T-shirt pocket and you know where it is.
