Cassie & Co. was Angie Dickinson's unsuccessful attempt to reproduce the success she had had playing the lead in the groundbreaking Police Woman in the 1970s.

Police Woman wasn't groundbreaking though, because Beverly Garland played American TV's first policewoman as the main character in the late 1950s. It was the syndicated TV series DECOY. Of course Police Woman was a much better show, with superior production values.
