I worked with a young woman in 2004 (long before this show ever existed) who used these "tricks". Her shoulder bones stuck out of her skin so much they looked sharp as knives and she had the whole lollypop head thing going on because she was so sick. She thought she was fooling everyone by shoving food around on her plate and covering it with napkins at the end of the meal. We all noticed, we just didn't say anything because it's work and at work you don't ask people about their personal problems.
@molepole19984 жыл бұрын
Koolaid Man I thought I was fooling people at work too until we were messing around in the crew room and I don't know how we got into that topic but one of my colleagues said ”You’re dangerously thin” in a joking way to which another colleague responded ”that’s a bit over the line, she might have anorexia, you don't know, I've never seen her eat” I was kinda shocked and didn't really know what to say. I order food on my employee meal so people don't get suspicious. Because who turns down free McDonald's, right?! But most of it goes into the bin...thing is, didn't think anyone saw, guess they did
@sbjade98124 жыл бұрын
Koolaid Man I hope she’s alright. Perhaps next time simply ask how she’s feeling, compliment the person or let them know that even though you are colleagues, she can confide in you. Even if it’s work, there’s never wrong place or time to acknowledge someone is struggling or offer a helping hand 💞

It can work both ways. Awareness means showing people without mental illnesses the reality, to educate them. 2020: The people saying they look messy or something like that, the personalities fit with the style, in this case Sid is known for being a super carefree guy, and Cassie just has her hair that way because anorexic girls have a hard time having good hair aesthetics. yep Sid is designed to look like he's overslept, just picked a t-shirt of his bedroom floor and flung it on. He usually wears a t-shirt, sometimes a hoody and a backpack. Tony's designed almost the opposite, his clothes always look immaculate in season 1, never a trace of dirt or a crease. He wears chinos, shirts, polo tops and jumpers or cardigans normally, dresses more adult. Cassie's look in season 1 was usually very bright and summer like, she wore lots of white and yellow I remember. It was quite a feminine look too, she used to wear a dress a lot rather than jeans, it all looked quite vintage.

Eating disorders are a mental disorder, not a weight disorder. Focusing on weight so much to indicate "how sick" someone is only makes the disordered person want to get "sicker" even more so they can feel valid, loved, and cared about. *Please* show your daughter that you love her and view her eating disorder as just as serious and valid no matter what weight she is at.

This scene breaks my heart. I used to have a friend that struggled with eating disorders. This one time just we were hanging out watching TV at my place. I happened to be eating some Starbursts out of a bag when she emptied the whole thing and started neatly stacking them and organizing them by color. At the time she just laughed it off but now I realize it was a compulsive thing for her. I hope you're doing better out there Lexi, I miss you.

The Snowflake Diaries it’s a r.e.m reference from the song, it’s about a guy who beat up dan rathers while shouting the sentence over and over again cuz he tought CBNews was sending signals in his head. So whenever a cat fell of the roof and killed an old lady they shout it, or whenever they didn’t understand a homework question people would shout it. It’s all confusing but once you understand it it’s hilarious. I died at that line 💀
