Just because older adults are more mature/have more experience does not mean that young ADULTS are children. They are not. They just aren’t old

you do know a woman in her LATE teens is physically fully done with puberty-she is no longer a pubescent. So how is lolita remotely similar to that? The whole point in lolita is perversion of the sick guy. He literally quite only likes girls who aren’t fully physically developed but started puberty12-14. A young woman in her late teens 16-19is literally done with puberty… Post pubescent.Y’all make it seem like late teens are the same as early teens. They are not. Nobody even thinks a 13yr old girl looks 16 or that a 14yr old girls looks 17/18. That’s insane. Once a woman reaches the end of her teenage years she is literally fully physically developed. And i said the end not the all teenage yrs. So let’s not act like an 18yr old woman is or even looks like a 13yr old lolita who is a literal middle schooler

What really chafes my clit is that these movies are not only WAYYY too fucking common, (Lolita, American Beauty, The Crush, Wild Things, etc) but they are either CONSISTENTLY portraying the Adult male as the victim, or it's misinterpreted as such by a large portion of the audience. While 8 haven't seen this particular one (bc I not only don't think I could make it, but I've seen so many others just like it that doing so would just be redundant torture porn atp) I feel quite certain that it did not need to be made. The Teacher-student trope has (very sadly) been done to death and there can no longer be anything new or subversive to add.

Yeah I really struggled to understand “the point” of this movie. There something badass about a girl taking advantage of the men trying to victimize her, but the movie paints this as though Cairo and Miller are actually kindred spirits that can’t be together due to circumstance (age difference, job, his marriage) so was this whole thing orchestrated for her college paper? Or did she really fall in love with him? And should he have just fucked her? Her whole revenge thing stems not bc he won’t cheat on his wife, but bc she knows that they genuinely want each other..? Also, why not just make her a college student? Same story, just far less gross and won’t have me wondering “how old is she again? Shes a genius in high school but she smokes so she’s legal..? That doesn’t make sense, if she’s so smart she should’ve skipped grades or something by now, how is she 18?” They wanted to be more provocative but couldn’t be as erotic or thrilling as an erotic thriller should be bc she’s a child.. I think. Or a genius who got left back a lot. Lastly, I get not wanting him to just be a bad guy, but instead it ends with her just being the bad guy. Why not leave it more ambiguous. She submits her story bc she thinks it’s great but admitting she was trying to fuck her teacher might destroy her academic goals (also why she shouldn’t be “a genius” just a writing savant with poor parents, not rich ones). So now they’re both equally guilty and equally at risk.

Honestly jenna ortega doing this 100% out of her own willing okay whatever… but i still feel so disgusted for her. SHES ONLY 22 YEARS OLD RN!!! Like we are for real in a pdfile society 😔

Real plus, it doesn't help that she literally does not look 22. She looks like kids in my high-school.

A pedophile is an adult who's sexually attracted to prepubescent children, Jenna Ortega is a grown woman who is well passed puberty. Don't just throw that word around without really knowing what it means. I understand that the age gap between the two is taboo which can be uncomfortable for most people, but it's not a federal crime. Unlike sexual child abuse which everyone in the world can agree is a horribly disgusting offense.
@Mr.glasglowАй бұрын
@Steviebrahms2424 yea and teenagers are actively going through puberty not yet fully adults. This movie is considered as a pedophilic fantasy because she is supposed to be an underage child in high school and him her high school teacher.

The point is - it's not clear whether they actually kissed or whether this was just in her head. The movie is not about the relationship. It's not a lovestory.

i HATE that they made the girl in the story a "fake victim" when there are actual women not even women fuck girls who are scared of sharing the traumas they went through
@pluto5682Ай бұрын
Seriously! Why is there always a twist where the man is the true victim and the girl is a defamatory mastermind!! Wtf!! It’s just gonna make it even harder for grooming victims to come forward in the future..

The bad country accents is what is sending me. The fact some of them drop their accents then go back to having the accent is bad enough, but the fact it's so stereotypical sounding is awful. Considering the different dialects of the South, it begs the question why they won't just hire Southern actors.
