The Tonys should bring a group of young people on every year. Share the love, help inspire and let youth know their talents are appreciated.

This was a beautiful performance, I felt tears in my eyes as they performed. I want to take a master class with Matthew Morrison so I can thank him for everything he’s (and his character on Glee) done for me.

I have to say I am so glad that they did this. These kids deserve this. I also am so glad they chose this song. I think Jonathan Larson who wrote the song and passed away before he could see the actual public performance of it would be so happy to see this and would be there at the Tony awards. He might even be up there singing with those students. Thanks Tony's for doing this. Theater is a great thing for all people and should be supported for all ages.

I periodically come back and watch this Video. This is my absolutely favorite song in the world. It has been since I saw the Broadway show, many, many years ago. This rendition is especially poignant because of the trauma these students endured, yet they were able to persevere. The tears stream down my face each time. God bless these young boys and girls.

Its tragic that when Middle Class and Upper Middle Class kids are victims of a shooting the world listens and takes action but closes it's eyes to the children going through violent situations living in poverty every F****** day. That's a tragic misuse of compassion.

@harrisburgpa14 жыл бұрын
Why do you see it an either/or situation? No child chooses the circumstances into which they are born. I agree that far more attention needs to be paid to children in poverty, suffering violence. But a child's life cut short by violence is something that should never be taken for granted, whatever the child's family's economic situation.

Takes action? Are you fucking kidding me? There has been no action taken. No gun reform. No gun regulations. Nothing. Educate yourself.

Am I the only one thinking this is weird? Like they were using that terrible tragedy for personal attention? Maybe I just assume the worst in people, but the whole premise just feels very strange to me. I remember thinking that when it first aired. I am sorry for the tragedy that happened, and we should all pay our respects to those who lost their lives. Not only in parkland but in other events as well. That being said, merely being a survivor doesn't make these kids immune to criticism. They went through something horrible, but they are imperfect as are we all. This video just feels creepy to me. Sorry if that isn't a popular opinion, truly.
@cherryblossom90324 жыл бұрын
Damn. Some of them lost their friends, and even if they weren’t on the building at that moment they didn’t know well in what building the shooter was (which you can see based on all the different locations people were giving to the police), they were clearly showing love to the people they lost and it’s always good to show something like these after a traumatic event. Idk about you, but school did in fact feel safer to me knowing more kids were trying to bring awareness to the situation, seeing them in tv getting attention and support does in fact make a lot of us feel better and not like nobody cares.
@is0pod3154 жыл бұрын
I feel as if this performance is more of a tribute than using their tragedy for attention.
