no pitting in the plaster AND the handle came out well. I'd say this is a great 1st attempt. I also really appreciate you doing a video with a cup that has a handle because so many people put up videos and attach handles separately, I understand why but this method is more efficient. and my favorite so Thank you!!

Thanks, It was good for first try. I haven't made any more molds yet, as I prefer to throw cups and mugs, but mabye this summer I'll try something.

it is similar it is called pottery plaster

It would have been sooo much more helpful if you had shown how you did the second price so it is sealed with the first one.

You basically just rinse and repeat. Flip it over, remove all the clay, reattach cottle boards, apply soap to the 1st half of the cast that was done (because plaster sticks to plaster), and pour the plaster on top of the 2nd half with the cup still in there. Hope this helps.

what is that clay you are using?

It is stoneware Plainsman clay, it is throwing clay, not slip casting clay, but it still works

not very long, if I remember correctly, it will set up in about 15 min.

murphy oil soap, it prevents plaster from sticking to the wood
