Cast Iron Campfire Breakfast with Zed Outdoors. Foraged Wild Mint Tea. Making a Simple Bench.

In this video, I meet up with Zed from Zed Outdoors for a bit of Breakfast and a good old chin-wag in a small local woodland next to the river. After making a makeshift bench to sit on, foraging some wild mint to make tea, collecting and processing firewood and lighting our camp-fire, we sit down to prepare breakfast, a mountain man style breakfast of vegetables, sausage and egg.
Zed has a well established and respected reputation within the bushcraft and youtube community and has been making videos for a long time with some of the biggest names in bushcraft and green craft. I have been enjoying his work for years and it was a pleasure to finally meet him in person and share a few stories and banter over a relaxed breakfast. ‘Landfill’ Recipe
Recipe can be varied depending on taste and what you have!
2x bell peppers
1x red onion
4x large mushrooms
4x sausages (meat removed from casing) or vegetarian
4x rashers bacon
4x eggs
Grated cheese (cheddar)
Hot sauce of your choice
Chop up veg roughly.
Fry veg and meat in vegetable oil until meat is cooked through and the vegetables are softened.
Crack in the eggs and mix through.
Stir until the eggs are cooked.
Add grated cheese and allow to melt through.
Serve with a good dollop of hot sauce.
Wraps optional.

When I lived in San Diego, California, I sometimes would go to a taco shop before work, and get a “breakfast burrito”. Your breakfast reminded of that. They put some potato in them too. (Just cut up potato the same size as your veggies and cook in pan together.) Yummy!

I am always so EXCITED to get anything from you. Your adventure and camping videos are always so PURE and a just a "feel good'. Your countryside is amazing. No need to go anyplace else . You have it all there. Even if you camped in the same spot over and over it would NEVER get old because you show us something different each time. Zed Outdoors and Kent Survival are longtime favorites of mine. You find yourself in very good company! Well...why shouldn't you? good video... My grandson says that he likes that table and the little folding grill looks like a transformer… he went out to his mothers garden and yanked up two handfuls of mint, from his mother garden, gathered up a couple arm loads of sticks and twigs, laid them out like you did went and got my zebra pot and a grill a jug of water and drug me outside to the side yard and wanted me to light the fire and brew up some tea… LOL so I tossed in a couple earl gray tea bags and a few sprigs of mint… I don’t recommend it but for a late afternoon outside with the boy it was great

“Landfill”. That’s great. We make something similar oftentimes called hash here in the US (Breakfast Hash if circumstances dictate that you need to differentiate from the smokable variety). Bear in mind veg sausage has much less fat so you’ll need to compensate with an dash more oil. I opt for Fried eggs on top and & sliced avocado (I’m American; of course we add avocado!) Nice to see a new vid. Be well.

I haven't seen Veggie sausages here yet (Haven't looked for them), but we have Veggie Hot Dogs (which dissolve if boiled too long) and the latest is plant based hamburgers with a list of ingredients a mile long. I think I will stick with real meat until they find cave paintings of a salad.

Its sad to see how people in the comments are so concerned about Andy from kent survival because there hasnt been an upload in a while when HoopedBivvi Wild Camper decided to quit and delete his channel, goes to show people only care for the bigger names with loads of subscribers personally I've started leaning away from channels with more than 7-10k subs unless I think they are truly genuine people I like to support the underdogs on youtube in this bushcraft / wild camping community especially now how the requirements on youtube have become way harder rin recent years

@@simonablokeinthewoods Hi simon, its not like that I just feel there are older but smaller channels out there that we should all be concerned with, the point was that hardly anyone even knows that hooped bivvi wild camper closed the channel down and one guy doesnt upload for a little while they all go nuts, I've seen it also not only here in the bushcraft / camping arena but elsewhere as well. also people on YT need to understand that youtubers also have lives to live other than their online persona, they must understand that sometimes we need a break too, Im sure andy also has other things going on in his life that are more important then YT and this goes for many of us So my mini rant was not against andy because of subscriber levels, more against viewers who care less about smaller channels and only concentrate on the bigger ones Cheers man
