That Mudfish (Bowfin) costs $7.99/lb at the store where I work at here in Canada. They're very popular with Bangladeshi customers. I think they're underrated here in North America. Good job on rescuing them.

It all depends on state laws. But majority of the time as long as you don't transport the water from the original lake to the next lake it'll be fine. They don't want bacteria from one lake moving to the next one.

Hold the castnet half way and then grab one end and put it in the hand holding the half of the net then reach down and grab another corner so it makes a smile then turn to the right and spin half way the other way then throw the net the right hand is pointing up to the sky then your left hand at the bottom

Alright guys. I love the fish rescue. But I've got a couple tips for you. On your bubbler you need a bubble stone or that bubbler is doing 0 good. Not enough air for a minnow. Let alone the fishe that were caught in the mud puddle. I would suggest a second bubbler. And on throwing the net. Coil your rope in your off hand. The opposite one from which you will b throwing with. And with that hand grab the line giud with free fingers and with the opposite hand grab around the net 6 to 10 inches below line guide. Let go of line guide in off hand. Now lift weight and hold in hand with net. Now about half an arm span down grab weights with hand that has rope in it. Net should look partially open. Now throw like a big frisbee using side where weights are bunched. Net should open and catch more fish cast nets take a lot of practice. Been throwing one for about 15 years Nd do well with them. Keep up the good work.

So fun fact gar and bowfin have vascularized swim bladders. Basically this means their swim bladders are veiny so they can gulp air. That’s probably why so many of them were surviving in that mud puddle. That’s also why when tossing em in a cooler it’s alright if the bubbler falls out as long as there’s an air pocket for them to gulp from.

You need the 3’ radius which is 6’ in diameter. Easier to throw. That one you got is 6’ radius and 12’ diameter will be harder to throw if you don’t know how to do it. Good job saving those fish!

LoJo when you throw the net hold it like you did grab a weight in the hand with the bundle then with the other hand grab the weight line and extend your arm that away it's open then rotate your body while also throwing the net like a frisbee keep up the great work if you are ever in the Waco tx area I could show you

I like how people think the diameter is the size the cast net advertises. It’s the radius. So a 3ft net would open to a 6ft diameter.

put the net in your right hand if you are righty. then make two coils waist high, grab half the net and put it over your right wrist, you have two side of the leads, one on the inside closer to your body and one away from your body. reach down arms length to the bottom of the outside lead and bring it up to your right thumb and grab it under your right thumb. slide down the outside line again and hold it in your left hand . wrap your left pinky around the net as well. now your ready to throw the net. you throw it like a frisbee. hold the pinky a little longer and twist the net with your pinky bringing your left hand across to your right side letting the pinky go. this opens the net all the way into a pancake. practice it as much as you need to to get it right.
