My husband and I are longtime Disney cruisers. I booked the Fantasy to see the new lighthouse point before seeing any pictures. Our cruise is coming up in October and I am so concerned about that new island with the huge walkway I am thinking of canceling. We are both over 65 and I am have COPD and although we try to stay active in our lives I am afraid that walk will do us in. Especially if it’s hot. You say we can try to get a golf cart but I’m thinking that will be more for disabled people. And how do you get one to get back to the boat? That will be the hardest walk being we will be tired & it will be hotter.

I hear you. If you can’t walk a half mile in the sun, then you might consider other options. You could probably get golf carts both ways, but may not be worth the stress. Hope you enjoy the vacation you end up choosing!

I’ve only heard very negative reviews of cultural excursions on lookout. Lookout has few chairs on the beach and many across the dunes with no view, big negative. Also lookout you can’t use floats and has no deterrent to sharks entering area other than jet skis watching. I have also heard several instances of people cutting feet on the large rocks at lookout. It’s still a long walk to the beaches from the tram on lookout and no shade. I think lookout will take several years to be complete.

Yeah, some of that is true. But it’s also still a wonderful place with an amazing beach. Every other beach resort on open ocean has similar problems with limited chairs, natural hazards, and logistics getting to the best spots. Can’t wait to go back!

I don’t think you can compare birds to flies when it comes to food. Birds are stealing food while flies are landing all over the food. For me that’s spreading disease and I couldn’t eat fly covered food. But that’s a me issue. Everything else looked very nice and I wouldn’t need to eat anyway. But still I think I’ll wait it out.
