Casting a tail spin fishing lure

Casting metal fishing lures at home is something that helps pass the cold winter nights. for this little project I designed tail spin lure using computer aided design and then made high temperature silicone mould to cast some pewter bodies. The through wire was just some bent s/steel wielding wire and pushed the boat out and used a ball bearing swivel for a small Colorado blade; this is probably too smooth and barrel swivel give a bit more rumble.

I don't fish, but I like the videos. This looks like a really fun craft that probably makes quite a bit of income. I'm curious as to the trial and error of getting the jig or lure to swim the way you want it to. Is that something you just know, or is it something that has you testing a creation over and over making small adjustments as you go?

I'm sure you already know this, but you might want to apply some paint or lacquer to that, to prevent the lead from tarnishing, and fouling your tackle box with lead oxide powder.

I'd recommend eye protection at the very least. Respirator during melting and pouring lead is always a safe habit.

this is lead free pewter, it tends to hold its shine for long time and often a a quick rub on my t shirt brings back dulled shine

Рассказываю, берёшь двухкомпонентный силикон, вмешиваешь в него тальк( тальк даёт силикону большую жаропрочность) , заливаешь в форму. Отлично держит температуру свинца.
