Rules:
Standard sudoku rules apply: The digits 1 through 9 appear in every row, column, and box.
Fog: Part of the grid is covered with fog. As correct digits are placed, the fog will clear from cells surrounding the correct digit, revealing additional clues. There is always enough information in the revealed portion of the grid to place another correct digit without guessing. Digits can be placed within the fog.
Consecutive Dots: Digits separated by a white dot are consecutive. Not all possible dots are necessarily given.
Pointing Thermometers: Digits along thermometers must strictly increase from bulb to tip. In addition, the digit in the bulb of the thermometer appears X cells away from the tip, in the direction pointed to by the tip, where X is the value in the tip of the thermometer.

That was such a lovely solve! The pencilmark error at 18:35 (when you said "7 or 9" but typed "78" and then used that to go down the garden path) hurt our hearts; we've done that so many times in our own solves and it is so hard to spot. You kept going back to JUST AFTER that error and we were rooting so hard for you to go back just two steps more ... thank you for your persistence! Always a pleasure to get a feature from you!

I don't know if I've seen this pointing thermo constraint before. It took a moment to really get it, but once it clicked, it really provided quite a lot of information. My time today was 10:50, solver number 1950.

Each thermo tip points to a cell n squares away in the direction of the tip. The value of that designated cell is the digit in the bulb of the same thermo. Great puzzle once I watched the sleuth explanation.

Nice puzzle. Just completed yesterday (BremSter posted yesterday). Was struggling to understand how tip could be pointing to the bulb of the same Thermo.

I tried this puzzle before watching the video and didn't understand the rules. Needless to say, I didn't get very far. After watching your explanation, it took 17 minutes. Quite a nice puzzle once you understand the rules. I wonder if I should read the instructions for assembling that wardrobe I've been working on for the last few days.

Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it...or so I've heard. And yes, it was indeed a typing error. Btw, there was another error earlier in the video. The logic with the 1 in column 7 played out correctly, but as stated, the cell below did not have to be a 2. In fact, the 1 is placed further down in the column, but it does rule out the 1 from the mentioned cell because it would duplicate the 1 in the column. Other than those two minor mistakes, great solve!

Thanks for explaining the pointing thermo rule, it wasn't well written at all. If they'd said "the digit in the bulb of the thermometer ALSO appears X cells away from the tip" (uppercase is mine), then it would have been a lot clearer.

In r7 c5 you mistyped 78 instead of 79.

18:03 for me. Your problem i think was that you said pencil pencilmark 7 and 9 but written 78 and then not noticed that typo. Bit later you thinked 8 in column so you solved it and forced it into wrong value.
